Affiliate Income

By Judson Lassiter

Let me tell ya a story 'bout a man named Ned (Ned?)

Worked in a office, barely kept his family fed!

Then one night as he ate crackers in bed,

His wife said "I saw something today that stuck in my head.

Have you heard about 'affiliate income', Ned?" (I disclaim any rumors that I'm a poet!)

The next day, Ned joined Clickbank and made $60,000.00 in 30 days.

Pretty impressive, huh? Then Ned woke up!

Can you make that kind of Affiliate Income? Yes, you can. Could Ned? No. Not at that time. You can make that kind of money, but only learning the business, experimenting, and building
contacts. When you see these fantastic claims of people making a fortune in a day, believe me, it took that person months, or even, years to progress to the point of making that day possible!

This doesn't mean that you can't make money right away, but to make thousands per month will take some nurturing. Is it worth the effort? It is to me. Think about it. How are you going to
spend your spare time for the next two years? Playing Video Games and watching TV?

Why not make learning the business of earning an affiliate income your hobby instead? Build your business on a solid foundation, until you can quit your day job. Then you can spend the rest of your life playing Video Games with your kids (or grandkids), backyard barbecues with family and friends, boating on the lake with the family, hunting with your son, shopping with your daughter, traveling... whatever makes your heart sing!

The point is, don't wait until a financial downturn makes you desperate to earn money now. It's unlikely to happen. Take your time and learn all that you can. There are many free ebooks that
will teach you how to earn an affiliate income. Read a variety of them and get a feel for what's available out there. Marketers give away valuable and informative material all the time. It builds trust and confidence in their subscribers, and there are usually links to their "backend" products. This is called "viral marketing" and it can be applied to affiliate products as well
as original creations.

Another good way to learn about the world of affiliate marketing is to buy from the experts. If you have a little money to invest (it won't take much), you can purchase e-books like Ewen Chia's "Autopilot Profits", or his "Affiliate of the Month". Both of these programs can be used to earn affiliate income, but the main point is that they are excellent guides to affiliate marketing. See the links at the end of this article.

Ewen is known as the world's top Affiliate Marketer and I can personally attest to the quality of information presented.

There are several different types of affiliate opportunities. Clickbank is one, as I mentioned earlier. Others come in the form of Membership Sites that enable you to refer other members, as well as to promote their products.

The great thing about starting your online business with an affiliate income is that you don't have to build an "infrastructure" to make money. In other words, you don't need to have a website or sales system! You are assigned an "affiliate URL" containing your User ID. You can use this in your email or forum signature files, free classified ads, blogs, articles, etc. It directs your prospects to the owner's sales page, and when they buy, you get a hefty commission! The down side is, the owner gets the prospect for future offers, instead of you.

So once you've made some money, it's a good idea to set up your own "capture page" and subscribe loan auto-responder service. That way, you get the prospect's contact info first. Then you can e-mail them when you have future affiliate income opportunities!

Above all, BUILD RELATIONSHIPS. Subscribe to forums, not only in the niche of internet or affiliate marketing, but ones that relate to a subject that you are interested in. Hunting,
fishing, shopping, sewing, birdwatching, whatever you like. Use your signature file, but don't worry about sales. You are making friends for the future. At some point, you will move your focus from the area of "internet marketing, to that of "niche marketing". You can find informational products, as well as merchandise and software related to your areas of interest. When you do, you will have a ready-made clientèle to kick-start your affiliate income business!

Another (and free) way to educate yourself is by joining JV giveaways. There is almost always one in progress. If you aren't receiving emails from everybody out there by that time, again,
just do a Google search. If you're not familiar with JV Givaways, they are events put on by the "gurus" for a variety of reasons. One is the potential for "backend sales" through links
in the books or OTO's (One Time Offers) on the download page for the free item. The main reason, though, is to increase the size of their prospects lists.

The items they giveaway are generally good quality, because they agree to present items that have never been given away free before.

To summarize, the time to begin an affiliate income business is now, not when you are desperate for cash. Educate yourself first so that you have a good overview of the business. While you are doing that, join forums and create relationships. When you are ready, join clickbank, pick one product and concentrate on promoting it. Then learn while you earn by purchasing more detailed informational products written by successful marketers. If you can implement even a few of the strategies that they will teach you, and you will succeed.

But be patient. Ned can't build his business in a month, and it's unlikely that you will either. But the rewards for perserverance and taking the time to do it right will be well worth the journey!

Affiliate Marketing Tips

By Jossef Salman

The best 10 affiliate marketing tips

A full 76% of people trying to earn income from the web found the task either too confusing, too expensive or downright impossible!

Some have no idea what so ever how to work with affiliate marketing; and end up spending time and even money with out any results. The other knows exactly what affiliate marketing is and what it takes, but they do not want to work and give it some time "they do not treat it as business".

Affiliate marketing is a business, require work "some times hard work", time "which mean patient", and money "yes like any business affiliate marketing require investment and expenses".

If you thing you are one of the other 24% who successfully can and will work the affiliate marketing so here are some very important affiliate marketing tips for you:

If you are promoting a free affiliate programs, you must find a way to sell their products and teach your sub affiliates to sell. This is the only way you can make money from free affiliate programs. Selling and driving good quality and quantity of traffic to your affiliate website.

It is better to promote a pay-per-referral affiliate program, especially when you can have all the information about your referrals. Program like ProfitMatic(http://moneyonline.profitmatic.com/) can easily build you a stream of income, by paying you a commission from the membership fee and at the same time you are building a list of powerful willing to pay, subscribers.

Do not use pay-per-click marketing to promote a free to join affiliate program, it is very bad ROI "return of investment"; instead use PPC to promote pay to join programs, and products. This way you will have a commission earning that can cover your PPC costs and leave you some good profits.

Build your own website with your own domain name; you can earn few dollars out of promoting your affiliate links, but you can have more and much more if you promote your own website. In it you redirect people to your affiliate products and programs. Here Niche marketing is the best profitable strategy.

If you are trying to market your links free, try to use free traffic generation programs in a very clever way: if your affiliate program suggest a specific traffic exchange program, do not use it "not for this affiliate program" use deferent traffic exchange. The same suggestion had been given to all affiliate in this program.

If your program or opportunity having a Co-op, do not use it, simply because most of your Co-op partners are your competitors, try to find other co-op, or partner with other friends and affiliates to build a new Co-op.

Use e-mail marketing to promote your affiliate links even if you have your own website. Try to offer your affiliate products and opportunity to your list. If you do not have a list, begin building one immediately, and use ezin ads.

Join more than one opportunity to offer more to your visitors.

send deferent offers to your up line, put him in your subscriber list as you are in his, and promote to him the same way he promotes to you.

There are good free affiliate programs that will give you free products only by joining, so join. Free programs like MoreNiche (http://www.arabian-affiliate.com/MoreNiche.htm) they will give you some good marketing materials only by joining, so join and use these materials in promoting your opportunity.

At the end you have joined affiliate programs (http://www.arabian-affiliate.com/affiliate-programs.htm) only to make money online, so think carefully. Are your marketing efforts paying back, if not change strategies; and some times add new opportunities and products.
Personally I invest money in marketing only for one program that I am affiliate with and it is ProfitMatic. I think this is the smartest way to get a ROI in your marketing effort. And every prospect I refer to this program after one month he will do any thing I ask him to do. Why?

Simply because I have brought him to this powerful program, and helped him build his own down line, and he began to make money on line. And this is the only way I use to build my list, and it is the best strategy to build good active list. Keep in mind that when we pay for something we then take it very serious, and when we invest money even small amount, we will do any thing to make it work.

Affiliate And Home Business Marketing That Creates Excitement

By Thinus DeVilliers

Marketing your affiliate products or home based business can be very exciting and extremely lucrative if done correctly, but it can also be a disheartening experience if you take all the time to set up a website that you are proud of, and no business makes its way to your masterpiece. I will highlight some of the biggest downfalls and also some of the best routes to follow which can mean the difference between a total disaster of your online business or an exhilarating success.

One of the most frequent occurring pitfalls amongst newcomers is to create a website with a lot of banners or affiliate links on various different products in the hope that somebody interested in those products will magically arrive at your site and buy them. Chances that somebody is going to buy a product other than what they are looking for at that moment are very slim. The answer lies in creating a website on a specific subject in the form of a content page, blog or even a sales page. More sales can be accomplished by selling affiliate products related to the content presented on the site. In this way you are attracting a more targeted audience as they are
already interested in the subject and thus more interested in the related products. And Hey Presto, you've got a recipe for success as this greatly enhances the chances of them buying through your affiliate links.

Another advantage of narrowing your site content down to a specific subject is that you can target it with related keywords for search engine optimization, pay per click advertising and article marketing. Although these marketing methods are all subjects outside the scope of this article, it should not be taken lightly as they can vastly increase your traffic and sales by sending targeted traffic through your affiliate links.

You should also not ignore the power of an email list. You can build an email list by offering a free gift or news letter, for example, as an incentive for a person to subscribe to your list. Having a large subscriber data base can be very rewarding, in fact you can actually create income at will. If a new product hits the market that you are promoting as an affiliate and you have a list of a few thousand members or more that you can broadcast to, only a small percentage needs to buy for you to make a pretty decent profit.

One more thing to consider is the type of affiliate links you are using. In my experience text links within the contents of your website creates a better click through rate than banners. A few banners here and there are acceptable, but people are so used to being drowned in banner advertising that they tend to ignore them. I suggest that you rather create an interesting
article or a good story related to the product you are selling, with affiliate text links embedded inside. This once more increases your chances of making sales.

Take some time to read up more on the different marketing methods I mentioned and remember to cater for a targeted audience. These methods can be very useful in any home based business or affiliate product that you might want to promote. If you are serious about your business and consistently do a little every day, you are prone to succeed.

Advertisers Target Customers With Affiliates

By J. Harding

By J. Harding

When companies are trying to get their online businesses growing, many are learning that turning to affiliates can improve their online presence. Since the introduction of the newspaper in the 19th century, companies have communicated with potential customers with advertising, but in a global economy, it takes global advertising to reach them all. When you are open to this idea and know how to make the most of it you may see your business success increase.

Many websites have found they can increase their advertising without increasing their advertising budget by offering other websites a commission on sales that they send to the online store. There is no cost to the company until the ad produces, as opposed to traditional advertising in which the company pays for the ad without any guarantee they will see a return on their investment. As the print and broadcast media continues to consolidate there are fewer companies with which to deal, resulting in higher prices and less competition for advertising dollar.

Additionally, traditionally advertising methods are limited in their audience, typically missing a large segment of a business's targeted demographic. A business without an online presence can also benefit from targeted ads, but the means are limited to their local advertising outlets.

When a company wants to reach a global audience, it is recommended they use the same media their internet customers use…internet advertising. This present a couple of challenges in that with traditional ads there is no way to tell which advertising destination is working and the cost. Companies cannot be sure they are getting the best bang for their advertising buck. This can seem like an overwhelming challenge but it is one worth taking on.

The best affiliate marketing programs are designed to allow companies to place ads on their affiliates' sites for free. They pay a commission for the ads if a visitor to that site goes to their website and makes a purchase. Typically, this commission is on a percentage basis and while many may not offer huge dollars, there are a few that offer much higher commissions based on the cost of the product or service being offered.

For the company trying to expand their offerings to the most customers possible, the use of affiliate programs can help them achieve their goal with a low initial cost. Allowing the affiliates the freedom to choose the size and style of the ads is more attractive to more affiliates and offering a decent commission will make them want to become a productive affiliate site.

The best affiliate marketing programs will want to market their own site to have more visitors to send to the companies' sites of which they are an affiliate. A company that has thousands of affiliates spread around the globe will have thousands of more marketing opportunities to reach a much larger audience. Most affiliates are savvy in the ways of internet marketing and will focus their efforts to the best audience that may be interested in visiting their affiliated companies.

When an Affiliate Marketing Myth Threatens To Steal Your Thunder

By Paul Majestyck,

Affiliate marketing is a potentially highly lucrative money maker if you have the right understanding of the process and also do not mind applying time and effort to guarantee success. Unfortunately, when an affiliate marketing myth threatens to steal your thunder, the odds are that you might have fallen for a slick sales pitch or have made some unrealistic plans with respect to your marketing efforts. Avoiding this permits you to succeed while succumbing to it will cause you to lose your momentum and in many cases results in a marketer giving up on the prospect altogether.

Problem the biggest myth that has stolen more thunder from gung-ho marketers than anything else is the notion that you can get rich overnight. Known as "get rich quick" schemes these affiliate marketing opportunities are often sold as being the brainchild of an Internet millionaire who is now training a finite number of apprentices in his craft and you are admonished to act quickly so that you will be among their number. (Check back with that website in a year or two, and you will be surprised to notice that it is still there with the exact same pitch.)

Even though anyone and everyone would love to have a part in something that promises a lot of money in return for little work, it is vital to understand that nothing comes from nothing and even though you might get lucky and have one or two attempts at something pay off big, by and large you will need to work hard for each and every sale and this requires hard work, long hours, dedication, and the knowledge that building an affiliate marketing business will take time.

Another myth that is often propagated by opportunity clearing houses is the notion that the more affiliate marketing programs you are signed up with, the more money you will make. Although in theory this sounds great, once you have devoted time and energy to getting one program off the ground you will understand just how intricate a process this can be!

Considering how much you have to invest to do justice to one program, imagine how much more time and effort you will have to spend on two, four or more! Experienced marketers will only take on another opportunity when their primary opportunity has become a money maker and
systems are put in place that permit for the program to more or less run itself. This, however, usually does not happen until after several months or even years of working the affiliate marketing opportunity.

Of course, by far the worst myth is the one that affiliate marketing is easy. Usually this stems from a combination of hype from the originator of the program and your inability - or unwillingness - to properly ascertain the time and effort it will take you to get this opportunity off the ground. When an affiliate marketing myth threatens to steal your thunder, remember that you are not the only person to have misjudged or underestimated the intricacy of the business, and in the same vein you are not the first one to go ahead and make it work in spite of some early misconception. Do not give up but give it your best!

Starting An E-commerce Business Is Surprisingly Simple

By Manfred Roehrig

The Internet is the playstation for the so called would-be entrepreneurs but also the consumers with many credit cards in the ready position. The challenge is to combine the two targets in such a way that they will form a mutually beneficial business relationship. While this may sound like a tall order for many newcomers, you may be stunned to find out that the surprisingly simple steps of starting an e-commerce business are actually achievable for anyone with a link to the Net!

There is nearly nothing that cannot be purchased or sold over the Internet, and houses, cars, durable medical equipment, jewellery, clothes, pets, and even stamps are enjoying an open minded business community that is devoted to them 24 hours / day. Of course, with so much open cyber space, you might surmise that the market by now is fully saturated and that new entrepreneurs have to let go of their dreams forever, but nothing could be further away from the truth!

As there are so many eager vendors online that are vying for the attention of the consumer, the latter has the luxury of being highly selective and no longer has to settle for second best but instead may wait and pick and choose until she or he finds precisely what they are looking for. This opens the door for the real savvy business owner who has the capacity to offer any product with a twist, who can enter a niche by giving the consumer something special the other vendors simply have not thought of, hear of, or were unable to obtain, and who is willing and capable to work hard at making her or his web presence widely known.

No longer does the entrepreneur feel shackled to the so called goodwill of a bank for the money needed to open a brick and mortar store, but instead the enterprising person will find that e-commerce makes it possible to sell goods without having to maintain an inventory, employing a sales force, and even dealing with the some times complicated shipping!

Starting an e-commerce business begins with a detailed business plan that outlines what will be sold to whom, and how the entrepreneur will make advertisement for his business to reach the target consumer group. Once this plan is ironed out and some benchmarks for performance reviews are set, the next step is really as simple as the first one, but just as vital: you need to set up a website.

Oh sure, your temptation of doing it yourself is undoubtedly there, but unless you really know exactly what you are doing and how to do it, you will be wise to let someone else, an expert, handle this aspect of the business. By far too many small home based businesses are unfortunately doomed to failure because of a website that looks as though a novice had put it together in a time crunch. Broken links, text that does not line up, graphics which make the site too slow for loading, and other problems cover the web presence of many entrepreneurs and thus at least at the onset you will be extremely wise to let the real professionals take care of your important business' online face and success is but a few clicks away!

Making money with residual income opportunities is a premier way of increasing your overall online earning potential. Take a good look online and you will be amazed to find the cornucopia of programs currently inviting participants that offer as part of their remuneration scheme a well thought out residual income option.

Those looking for the cheapest and easiest programs on the Internet today, the obvious answer are affiliate marketing opportunities.

Online Article Marketing

Article by Niki Camus

Article marketing is a revolutionary way to inform potential customers about your business. By writing an article about your specific expertise and posting it on the internet, you can successfully inform hundreds of thousands of potential customers. Article directories list hundreds or thousands of articles posted by their users. The articles are picked up by search engines and web surfers now become potential customers.

One of the most common questions asked is, "How effective is article marketing?" Well, I can't tell you how many times I have searched the internet and got to someone's website by reading their article. So my answer is, Of course it is effective! Web surfers search for anything on the internet, and the volume of people using the internet is significant. One of the most important aspects of article marketing is that it is purely targeted. This means web surfers will most likely access your information by searching for words that are in your article. This means they already have an interest in your product, which will increase the likelihood of them visiting your website.

Everyone is aware of the advantages of article writing so the internet is flooded with their articles. While this may seem like the best thing, search engines may not think so. Search Engines such as Google strive on making their users receive the best quality results. As a result, they filter duplicate content and will not display results that are exactly alike. If the same
article gets flooded on the internet it may not improve the effectiveness as much. It is important to write unique articles, which will increase your chances a lot more.

Article Marketing when approached appropriately can be very effective. It may not work overnight, but in time the traffic will increase. Submitting to several article directories will surely improve your chances, and the more unique they are, the more it will make a difference. Thirty percent uniqueness or more should be enough to not be filtered by search engines.

It probably sounds harder than it is to actually rewrite different articles but it is really not that difficult. You can keep the ideas the same, but finding different ways to write your sentences can create a big difference. First, replace words as appropriate. Not all word synonyms will actually make sense, so be careful with that. Next, try to rephrase a part of a sentence and then you go from there. Creating unique articles does not necessarily mean, you start completely from scratch, now that will be difficult. Take baby steps and in no time you'll create so many versions of your article, you'd be amazed how simple it is to get it done.

When you have created different versions of your article, the next step is to distribute them. Article directories are usually free and willing to accept your articles. Submit your articles to as many directories as possible, the more the better. Directories usually give you an Author Resource area. This is where you include a biography of yourself, as well as the link to your website. It is also important to not fill your articles with links, especially links that are not related to your article. A simple link, to your website is enough. Remember, it's important to concentrate more on informing your potential customers, rather than flooding them with unnecessary links. If you do, they'll most likely click the back button and go elsewhere on the web.

Thirty-Two Tips in Writing Articles for the WWW (Updated)

Article by Craig Lock

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to use the Internet and he won't bother you for months...or perhaps even years! (Sorry men... however, I presume this principle also applies to our women-folk!)."

Articles are an incredible source of traffic and free advertising for your online business, as they create LINKS (which are a vital criteria for the major search engines in their rankings of your web- site). Writing articles can provide you with enormous amount of exposure on the Web (sounds "rude, that). You are branding yourself on a shoestring budget - it hasn't cost you a cent, but a little time and effort.

People want quality content for their ezines and their web sites; however, the competition for content is fierce. Every Web site owner wants content and hundreds of writers want their content visible on the Web. It's FREE promotion through your signature file at the end of your article*.

If you can write an article about your business, you can increase your links in 24 hours! As the internet adress in your resource box at the end of your articles gets picked up by the main search engine spiders, like Google and Yahoo.

Writing a free content article is simple and follows a similar professional approach as an article for a standard, paying market. Here are some pointers in writing articles for the www:

Firstly,

1. Offer Something of Value, a Real Benefit to people. Articles that give good helpful information or explain how to accomplish something are usually best, and will be read most often.

2. Try to get into the publishers mind. See things from their point of view - why should they publish your article? In what way will it benefit their readers?

3. Accept that writing for the web is different to writing for the off-line world. People tend to skim and scan (note alliteration) when reading online. They read quickly scrolling down the page.

4. Identify your target audience.

5. Give your article a catchy title that will grab attention and make people want to read.

6. Keep your title reasonably short. Put some thought and effort into your heading - again to get your reader's immediate attention.

7. Be professional and take your article writing seriously. Write about something you know professionally. Don't be overly casual in your writing (ie. don't write exactly as you speak)

8. Keep your paragraphs short.

9. Be Clear and Concise. Get to the point quickly (enough waffle with maple syrup, Craig!).

10. Target your article to your audience with "focused information".

11. Be brief, if you are a "waffler", like this writer. People want immediate information online and have limited time usually - it's the "instant coffee, sorry generation.

12. Write briefly and concisely (redundant words, meaning the same thing, Craig!) Try to keep your article under 1,500 words. Most paying markets usually only accept between 500 and 2,000 words... and with a bit of luck they may even "pick up" your great article. Try to be concise in your wording. Brevity is the hall-mark of good writing...or so say many of the teachers of writing!

13.. Use the OCCASIONAL exclamation mark (!) to get your readers attention. Forget the ALL CAPITAL LETTERS and exclamation points!!!

14. Be credible (big word, eh?) at all times.I try to write my articles in a "conversational style with dashes of my funny humour".

15.. Use HUMOUR. People like to have a bit of fun with the occasional laugh, whilst being informed on a serious subject. At least I believe so!

16. Write from "your heart", so that you come across as a REAL person. Just write what comes naturally with INTEGRITY...and BE YOURSELF.

17. Be totally honest in your writing and don't "borrow" too much from others content. It's so easy to "steal" on the www - so do your own work and if you "borrow ideas or material, ACKNOWLEDGE. "Incidentally, I have borrowed some ideas in this article from some good writers and well-known internet marketers - thanks a lot, David, Michael, John, Meredith, Joe, Edward, Ken and Mark).

18. Be humble.and don't talk down to your readers.

19. Use bullets (not live, please, oops er sorry, bad taste) in your articles - it makes the points easy to follow.

20.. Don't forget your byline ...or your "business card". Make sure that you resource box at the end of the article provides enough information to identify yourself and provide contact information. It's FREE advertising.

21. Offer a free report with your article - this is an easy way to collect a list of adresses for marketing your product(s). An instant target market.

22. Check all the links in your article before submitting it.

23. Offer your articles by autoresponder

24. Conclude with a strong message. Your final point (and paragraph) should be a message that summarises your article or gets your reader to take further action, like "GET STARTED" (as I've done in this article).

25. Pay attention to feedback you get for your articles. Getting constructive feedback about your articles can help you to write better through encouragement. A very powerful motivator to write more articles..

26. Finally, make sure your layout is good (not one of my strong points!), as this greatly enhances your prospects of getting published Use plenty of white spaces, as this makes your piece more easily read.

27. Proof-read. Double check your articles for errors: spelling, grammar and punctuation. Use a spell-check. Go over your article carefully and be an editor yourself.

28. Make sure your article flows properly.

29. Re-read and re-read, until you get it "just right."

30. Keep a file of articles you've written or ones that lie unfinished. You may have many new ideas since then. Set aside time to work on them. You may even put them in the form of an ebook, as my "techno-friend", Stefan has done.

and finally...and most importantly

31. Remember the "kiss" principle: Write simply and keep your meaning (message) clear (As Ernest Hemingway advised). Never use a big word, when a dimunitive will do (get it)!

Self discipline is the key to writing success. "Aim for perfection, but settle for excellence" in your article writing... then just "give it a full go with all you've got".

and finally (and most importantly)

32. Don't treat writing articles for the www. as a loborious and necessary chore of internet marketing, but some FUN in your writing (as I have done in this article)

SUMMARY:

The internet is such an amazing medium for communication and SHARING information. I've just submitted this article and it's been published almost instaneously (big word!) in a few places. So YOU TOO can write articles on your chosen subject in your internet marketing efforts, as the more articles you write and submit, the more you will find web sites LINKING to yours (as many of the major search engines use the number of links as a factor in placing your web site in their rankings).

It's a "numbers game": MORE TRAFFIC = INCREASED SALES ("the more you tell, the more you sell")

Share YOUR unique knowledge and skills to help others "out there in cyberspace."

Writers and internet marketers - Grab this moment in history well. "Carpe diem" (seize the moment!).

Why not start writing articles for the www in your unique area of interest, knowledge and or expertise?

YOU CAN DO IT by writing articles for the www ... and so and "by giving, you receive" (far more).

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." - Johan Wolfgang Von Goethe (German philosopher)

Happy writing

Craig Lock (Eagle Productions Books)

P.S: We hope that these tips help in your article writing. In my opinion it's the best internet marketing strategy. To your internet marketing dreams in 2008...and beyond.

Automatic Online Income - Myth or Fact?

Article By Titus Hoskins

Nothing excites the mind more than receiving automatic online income, day-in, day-out for all 365 days of the year. A true marvel to behold and the perfect solution to all your money worries.

It is totally liberating.

It gives you the freedom to pursue your life's goals, no matter what they may be. It gives you the freedom of mobility; you can live anywhere in the world. Moreover, it gives you the time to do the THINGS you want to do, whether it's sailing solo around the world or staying home to raise your kids.

Simply put, it gives you choices, plenty of choices. You are no longer tied down by a 9 to 5 job. You are your own boss. You decide when you work or even how much work you do.

But is automatic income from the web a myth or fact?

Are there really people making money 24/7 while they're sleeping, enjoying a delicious restaurant meal or even while on vacation?

The answer is YES!

Computers and the Internet are relatively new inventions. Like anything new, many people don't fully understand how they work or what excellent opportunities they offer. Most people just can't comprehend how someone can earn automatic income from the web.

To understand how this income is possible, you must first understand how the Internet works. Basically, at its very core, the Internet is simply information. We use the web to find information. We use it to find what we're looking for - whether that "something" is in the virtual world or in the so-called real world. Whether it's a pizza with the works or the theory of relativity explained in full... you can find it all on the net.

We use the Internet to solve problems, find a friend, buy a condo, book a vacation, write a book report... and the list is endless. But how do you earn income from the web, automatic or otherwise?

Again, the answer is quite simple, you just have to give web users what they're looking for and in most cases that "something" is information. They want information, neatly packaged and accessible at all times. They want things explained and pointed out to them in a direct manner. They want easy solutions to solve their questions or problems.

Information Is The Key

If you want to earn income from the web, you must place your website or sites squarely into this "information mix." You must offer something of value to your site's visitors, whether it's how to make the perfect angel cake or tips on buying a new laptop. You must offer valuable content, special deals, bargains... you must give people a good reason to use your site. They must benefit from using your site.

Just look at Google; they have built a billion dollar company by simply telling people where they can find information on the web. Their homepage is one of the simplest pages on the web and hasn't changed much since they started in 1998. But they offer the visitor valuable content/information which is needed and appreciated.

Granted you're not Google, but even the smallest webmaster can offer valuable information to their visitors. Everyone is an "expert" on something - just take your favorite hobby or pastime and run with it. Build a site, offer tips, give advice, gather information... create an online presence for your chosen topic or hobby and you're in business.

Once you have built a reputation for useful content, the search engines and your visitors will spread the word about your site's content. Then it is simply a matter of monetizing that content with affiliate links or thru advertising, such as Google Adsense.

There are countless ways or models of making automatic income on the web. The above example is just one of the simplest ways of earning income from your website. If you have your own product and an army of affiliates, then the above scenario is multiplied a hundredfold.

Automation Is Your Friend

You must keep in mind: computers and the internet are tailor-made for automation. Once you create your sites and content, they run 24/7 without any help from you. Once you set up your follow-up autoresponders, they run 24/7 without any help from you. Once you set up your affiliate links and/or Adsense Code, they run 24/7 without any help from you. Once you have set up your viral marketing systems, such as free videos, free buying guides, free downloads, free articles and ebooks, they run themselves 24/7 automatically.

Of course, it is a good idea to monitor your site and your whole online operation. Plus, it would be wise to keep adding valuable content to your site or sites on a regular basis. But once you have set up your automatic income streams, they pretty much run themselves without much help from their creator.

Then you will see for yourself that regular automatic income from the web is indeed possible and not a myth. You will earn revenue, like clockwork, day-in, day-out; it is a true beauty to behold. Besides, there is no greater joy than coming back from a computer-free vacation only to find you have earned enough money to pay for your vacation and then some... all the while you were away enjoying the sun and the company of friends.

That's just one of the many joys having an automatic online income will give you. Many more await you...

Driving Traffic And Getting List Profits

Article by Casey Moher

A great number of tested ways for sending traffic to your site exist today. You can spend time, money and considerable effort getting variable results with many of them. Much of my time has been spent in trying many of these. This is an approach that works very well.

Give before you try to GET!!! Provide a free gift for your visitors.

There is a high perceived value on the part of your visitor if you can provide them with useful information. Information has a high perceived-value and can truly change lives.

It is important that you realize there is a huge credibility gap between you and the folks you would like to have as visitors to your site and, ultlimately, customers. This level of mis-trust MUST be overcome before you can succeed in your efforts.

Finding and sharing information is your initial step. An on-line approach is the most efficient way to find and distribute valuable information. Key-word searches give you the quickest feedback on the subjects that people want to know. These subjects are what people want to know and are the ones you want to include in what you give away to your visitors.

Rather than simply sending off an e-mail or two when you provide the information, it is much better to turn it into a study course lasting several days. You will find more success if you spend the time necessary to make this a high-quality gift. This will return to you many times over in the form of a valuable list of quality subscribers. Very little cash takes you a long way in this project.

You give the information if your visitor will simply provide their name and e-mail address. The best way to perform this information capture function is to use a 'squeeze page'. Getting a squeeze page set up can be done simply and without much cost.

It's quick and affordable to get professional, quality work done. In a very short time, your own squeeze page can be activated and running.

You can have your own squeeze page up and running fast, just let me know. Use this excellent starting point to build your own profit machine.

Profitable long-term relationships, based on trust, can be built with these strategies and techniques. These methods can build your long-term relationships and ongoing profits.

Seeking to help your customer base and striving to be of value to them will pay off in any business, on-line or off-line. As you move forward, you can be well-rewarded. The optimal time to provide valuable information is long before you ask any prospective visitors/customers to do anything. The list is long when it comes to the types of information you can provide free. When you focus on quality of information delivered in a professional manner you will be taking giant steps on the road you wish to travel.

Information need is the primary thought process going on in the mind of the internet user you wish to reach. If you have the best interests of your reader at heart, it will show through in what you say and do. This is important! You have to overcome an always-present barrier of doubt in your visitor's mind. Provide valuable information at no cost and you will quickly erode the doubts. Writing and submitting articles on topics of intertest to a wide number of folks is a great way to attract the interest of internet travelers. You can pick article topics based on your own interests as well as a review of what key words people are seeking on the internet.

Articles work best at driving traffic to your website if they are not self-serving or blatant efforts to sell something. Use your articles to tell, not sell! The biggest role your articles perform is to inform. After your article has presented the information, it's fine for you to include a resource box at the end. The resource box gives your name, website address and what the reader will benefit when they visit it.

The process of article writing and production has taken some forward strides lately with new software that automates everything. A lot of the grind and struggle of article-production has been made much easier now that the industry has taken this step forward. Everything has gotten much simpler lately with all this. Articles can be written, produced and distributed to thousands of people at very reasonable rates.

Recent advances in computers as well as in writing and publishing services help you make articles an integral and ongoing strategy. If you want more information on these useful tools (or anything else in this article), just contact me.

Which Affiliate Programs Do I Personally Recommend?

By Tim Knox

I personally receive over a dozen checks and commission payments every month from various affiliate programs that I promote.

Last month, those checks totaled more than $10,000 and some months they have been as high as $25,000.

Given my success as an affiliate marketer, I'm often asked what affiliate programs I personally recommend.

The answer is easy because it's actually a pretty short list.

First, let me explain what an affiliate program is.

Affiliate programs are used by monster companies like Amazon, eBay, and many others to recruit resellers (affiliates) to help bring customers to their websites.

But the affiliate programs I prefer are those offered by smaller companies that sell digital products online. Those are the programs that pay up to 75% commission, while most larger
companies may pay just a few percent.

You can join an affiliate program usually by applying online at the company's website. Being accepted into the program gives you the right to market the company's products as an independent reseller and receive commissions when you make a sale.

I've looked at hundreds of affiliate programs over the years and have come up with my own personal Top 10 Affiliate Programs that I actively participate in and heartily recommend.

Some of these programs require that you pay a membership fee and some do not. The reason some programs charge a fee (including my own affiliate programs) is because you get more
value as an affiliate.

In most cases you get a full-blown website from which to sell the products and copies of most - if not all - of the products you'll be selling. For example, I charge $124.50 to join my program, but you get access to over $500 in products.

To make my list of the Top Affiliate Programs is not an easy task.

First of all, I have to personally be an affiliate of the program and must have earned considerable sums to prove its validity.

To make my list the program must also:

Offer quality products that offer real value, no fluff Offer high commissions (30% minimum, 50% preferred) Offer 2 tier commissions (if the 1st tier payout is substantial, I can live with a single tier)

Have a proven track record of success
Have a spotless reputation
Pay commissions on time, every time
Have well-known affiliates who will vouch for the program
Be more than 6 months old
Have a low rate or returns
Be referred to me by someone I trust.
That last one's a biggie for me. If one of my peers recommends a program, I know it's going to be good.

So, here is my personal Top 10 Affiliate Programs that make me thousands of dollars every month and with a little time and effort, there is no reason they can't do the same for you.

These are the programs that I personally participate in and recommend. If you're serious about starting your own affiliate marketing empire, take a close look at these.

Internet Marketing Center

IMC was founded by the late Corey Rudl and is now headed up by Derek Gehl, Corey's right hand man. IMC racked up $40 million in sales and pays out hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to their affiliates. Their products are top notch, as is the support and the commissions. I regularly get checks from IMC that range from $3,000 to $7,000 a month. This program is free to join.

You must sign on as a customer first, but doing so gets you your own turnkey website and affiliate marketing rights.

Dave's affiliate program is also tops in my book. His product converts like crazy and his support is second to none.

James Jones always delivers by providing his affiliates with excellent products that sell like mad. I have done so well promoting James' new book, Emergency Cash Generators, 101 Profit Generating Techniques, that it jumped into my Top 10 after just one month. You can't miss affiliating with James.

MyClickPages.com is the program I created specifically for Clickbank affiliates. http://myclickpages.com/ gives you a complete, professionally designed website from which you can sell my Clickbank registered products. Naturally I have to recommend my own affiliate program. Yes, I charge for the affiliate license, but I also give affiliates a full blown website and copies of all my products and my track record is 2nd to none. I signed checks last year that paid out over several hundred thousand dollars to affiliates in 2004, so I know it works.

As a P&P member and affiliate you get access to every section of the P&P website, including the wholesale database, the business opportunity and franchise database, the extensive ebook library, and more. Commissions are 50% of sales and paid monthly by check.

There you go, my personal Top 10 Affiliate Programs, but don't think that is the definitive list. There are tens of thousands of products and companies that you can sign on with as an affiliate and earn commissions.

You can find most of them listed at Clickbank or Commission Junction.

Setting Up An Art Affiliate Site - Part 3

By Jeremy Zongker

The phrase "If you build it they will come" definitely does not pertain to websites. Getting visitors to your site is easy; doing it in a way that is profitable is very difficult and takes a lot of work. This is the most difficult and most critical phase to operating a profitable art affiliate site or any website for that matter. There's no magic formula to follow, but in the sections below you'll find some key pieces of advice that will greatly increase your odds of succeeding.

Step 8 - Monitoring Your Traffic

This is very important. Random odds dictates in part the number of sales you make, so if you do not monitor your traffic you will have no idea how well your efforts in getting traffic to your site are working. Your stats can provide a lot of valuable information such as how many visitors come to your site each day, how many pages they view, how long they spend on each page, where they came from, what path they followed from your site, etc. You can use this information to make changes to your site to help improve your traffic.

The good news is your host most likely provides a free utility for monitoring your stats, but you may have to turn on the stats monitoring or request that your host do this for you. If your host does not provide a tool for doing this or the tool they provide doesn't provide much information then you can visit StatCounter for a free one.

Step 9 - Build Links

To be successful it's important to have a fair percentage of your traffic to be "free traffic". The primary source of this free traffic is going to be from search engines and other sites. We already discussed how to optimize your pages to increase your search engine ranking, but that's only half the equation the other half is links to your site.

To get links to your site the easiest way to start is by submitting to directories. There are hundreds if not thousands of these directories that will accept your website for free. It's important when you submit to these directories or do any link building that you use your keywords as the link text such as Tropical Art. This helps your rankings by having other sites
affirm that your site is about the keywords you selected.

This is work is something anyone can do but is also time consuming. If you don't have the time, once again you can use a site such as RentACoder to hire someone to do this for you. Let me just point out two things you do not need to do and shouldn't do. The first is submit to search engines. Once you have some other sites linking to yours they will find it, and you're better off if they find it on their own instead of you having to tell them about your site. The second is submitting to link farms or free for all (FFA) sites. This will gain you nothing and is a waste of time and money.

Step 10 - Pay for Traffic

Some directories such as Yahoo Directory and other websites require you to pay for inclusion. Some are worth it, others are not. It's going to be up to you to decide. One benefit of paying for this type of traffic versus pay per click is it will also help your sites ranking by providing you with extra back links.

Another option is to use Pay Per Click (PPC) programs such as Google Adwords. With these programs you pay for each visitor that comes to your site. This can be a great way to gain traffic but you also have to be careful with it in order to be profitable. What you need to know is how much you earn per average user. For example if last month you had 500 visitors and made $75 in commission, then on average each visitor made you $0.15. Knowing that you can bid below $0.15 per click and will most likely make a profit on the visitors referred to you from the PPC program.

Step 11 - Wait, Analyze and Revise

It takes time to get your site to rank with search engines. Usually you'll be able to find first on MSN within weeks, then Yahoo within a few months and finally Google possibly up to a year or more later. At the time of writing this MSN gets about 5% of search traffic, Yahoo gets about 15% and Google gets a whopping 75%. Your traffic will come in phases and it will take a long time to see the large payoffs.

Each month you need to analyze your stats again and determine what adjustments need to be made. You may need to increase or decrease how much you are paying per click on PPC sites, adjust your site layout to get more visitors to purchase or perform more link building to improve your sites rank. Just keep with it, continue to read and learn more and not give up and eventually your efforts will pay off. Good luck with your site!

Can The Average Person Really Make A Living Online?

By Douglas Rogers

Can you really make money online? The answer is a resounding "Yes!"

First, though, you need to understand how this game really works.

The right mindset is crucial to your success.

You've probably come across numerous business opportunities already. I know you're actively searching for information. I hope you haven't become jaded already by the con artists out there who make false promises.

The fact is you can profit significantly and, yes, even quickly once you learn the right way to do business online. So, approach this article with an open mind.

What E-Commerce is really all about

There's nothing magic about the Internet. It's really just another medium of communication. The difference between doing business online versus doing business in a brick and mortar
establishment is this:

1. Your potential customer base spans across the globe if you so desire. You aren't limited by your location.

2. Your business operates 24/7. You can still make sales even when the workday ends.

3. Your overhead is significantly lower than it would be in a traditional business, and the barriers to entry are lower as well.

4. You can create non-traditional businesses which will have no parallel in the offline world.

As an online entrepreneur, you also enjoy a wider range of options in number of products you sell, their method of delivery and your profit margin after expenses.

Sounds great, right? It truly is an ideal situation for the small, home based business owner; but don't quit your job just yet.

An online business requires just as much focus and dedication to get off the ground as any other business, so forget about working at home in your underwear right off the bat.

The first thing you need to do is investigate your options. What type of business can you start online? Which businesses are the easiest to set up?

If you already possess some business knowledge and common sense, you're off to a great start. The real challenge comes when you start translating this knowledge to match the rules of online commerce. The game is played a bit differently on the internet than it is on the streets.

Newcomers often have difficulty sorting out the differences between business models versus business strategies.

Here are some of the most common online business models:

1. Selling tangible goods (ie, Ebay)

2. Selling information products (intangible/downloaded)

3. Affiliate marketing

It takes a certain personality to thrive in any one of these. Let's take a look at the traits associated with each.

The Seller of Tangible Goods

This type of entrepreneur usually possesses previous experience in the retail industry, though it is not totally necessary to have previous experience in order to succeed. However, an inexperienced online retailer faces the biggest learning curve.

In order to sell tangible goods, you'll need to learn the ins and outs of wholesale for product sourcing. You'll need to learn how to set the optimal price point for your products to remain profitable and competitive. You must deal with shipping and returns.

If you run a one-person operation, it will be near impossible to ship products in the necessary volume. In this case, you'll need to find companies which can "drop ship" your product. Drop
shipping is a fulfillment service.

This sounds ideal - but be forewarned. Most real wholesalers have minimum order requirements and will not ship single items.

Drop ship wholesalers who do ship single items often mark up their prices and you end up paying at least 10%-15% above the true wholesale cost. This isn't a small price to pay when your
objective is competitive pricing. Even a small mark up can kill your profit margin.

If you choose this route, be prepared for a lot of hard work! Online retail requires persistence, patience, strategic planning and a high degree of risk.

The Seller of Intangible/Information Products

Information products present an good opportunity for small, home-based business owners. Your costs of development and overhead are low, while your potential profit margin is high.

You will need a new skill set if you choose this path. Primarily, you will need to learn good copywriting skills and how to sell people on what they desire, not on what they think they need. It's relatively simple to entice a visitor to purchase, say, an MP3 player when they're already looking for one. This doesn't require convincing sales copy.

An information product, though, does require good copy. You're asking your potential customer to invest in a product they aren't familiar with - something they can't see or touch or play with like a tangible product.

Information marketing is very much "all in the mind". It rests on your ability to stir up people's passions and secret wishes. If you pride yourself on seeing "the big picture" and have the heart of a teacher or communicator, information marketing could be the right choice for you.

The Affiliate Marketer

Being an affiliate marketer can be the Ideal business for most people. They make a living selling products they do not own. Profits come from commissions paid on sales that they refer to other merchants.

A good affiliate can reap an enormous full-time income marketing a whole suite of products that he does not own. He doesn't pay for product creation, doesn't have to ship anything and doesn't deal with customer service issues or returns.

One major skill an affiliate marketer needs to develop as is the ability to generate highly targeted traffic. You also need to learn how to capture that traffic and do a bit of extra selling before they hit the merchant's site.

If you don't capture the visitor's e-mail address, they're gone for good - and you'll get stuck trying to generate volumes of traffic over and over again just to capture enough "luck of the draw" sales to get by. It's like throwing your ad budget down a hole.

If you want to make money online, there are two ways to go about it. The first is trial and error, spending hundreds of hours in front of your computer, buying e-books and struggling perhaps a year or two before you make a dime. The second and best way is to learn from someone who has already achieved success online and can coach and guide you every step of the way.

But beware, there are many out there who will sell you garbage e-books and courses full of ideas on how to make money on the internet, but most fall short of giving you an easy to follow and workable plan. Especially if your a newbie to internet marketing.

I know first hand about this because I spent a full year struggling to make money on the internet. I bought almost every so called Guru system out there only to be let down and was still left struggling to make money. But my determination to make a living on the internet paid off and now I produce a fantastic full time income for my family solely from my online affiliate business.

Whether your a newbie or have been struggling for some time, you can achieve online success too if you don't give up and learn the right skills from a proven Internet Wealth Building Coach. Just stay focused, proactive and stay positive - and soon you'll be well on your way to making outstanding money online!

Grow An Affiliate Biz

By Kirsten Hawkins

The biggest failure in affiliate marketing is not collecting prospects' email addresses. If you only send your prospects to your affiliate website, you are promoting someone else's business, not your own. Your goal should be not to sell affiliate products, but to grow your own business.

Here is how you build an affiliate business.

1. Use a lead-capture page.

Get your own website and build a home page. Don't write a sales letter for your affiliate product. Instead, write an email course focusing on the strongest benefits of your product. Highlight these benefits in a short sales letter that is designed for one thing only-to get people to subscribe to your course. Then, in your course, promote your affiliate product. The value in this method is that you are actually building a direct marketing business and gaining your own customers.

2. Build your own list.

Spend your time, effort, and money driving targeted traffic to your website. The more visitors you get, the more subscribers you get, and hopefully the more money you make. You can never underestimate the long-term value in having your own customer list. Keep building it. Spend at least 65% of your time in building your list.

3. Reinvest in your business.

When you make a sale, congratulate yourself! Take some of the profits and spend them on yourself. Take your spouse to dinner, go to a movie, or buy another internet marketing ebook! But your goal should be to grow your business. You should take at least 60% of your profits and reinvest them back into your business. How? By buying more ezine ads, adding another pay-per-click campaign, or using some other kind of advertising. Perhaps you could buy an ebook with reprint rights instead of marketing affiliate products-that way you keep all of the profits.

4. Keep marketing to your list.

You should always be on the lookout for new products to promote. Whenever you find one, write another email series, add it to your autoresponder, and keep promoting to your list. Focus on adding at least one new product and series to your autoresponder every month. Some will get tired of the information you send and unsubscribe, but if you are focused on building your list you will always have many more subscribers for each unsubscribe you receive.

If you follow these steps, your affiliate business will grow into a very profitable direct marketing business.

Affiliate Tip - Create A Newsletter

By Nell Taliercio

The average person has to be exposed to a product seven times before he makes a decision to buy. What does that mean to you as an affiliate marketer? You need to be able to get the product you are offering in front of your visitors repeatedly. One of the best ways to do this is by getting the visitors of your website to sign up for a newsletter.

By capturing their email address and getting them on your newsletter list, you can keep bringing them back to your site. You will also be able to repeat your offer several times in your newsletter, and if you can't get them to buy the first product, you move on to something else. Sooner or later they will start buying and you will get your commission from the sale.

A newsletter is also a great relationship-building tool. Think about it, who are you more likely to buy from? A complete stranger or someone that has already provided you with great content on the subject you are interested in. You'd probably buy from someone that has given you great information already.

The same goes for your visitors. To turn them into customers, allow them to get to know you, show them that you know what you are doing and provide them with good content in your newsletter. Then offer them your affiliate product.

The biggest mistake I see new affiliate marketers make when it comes to newsletters, is to try to use their personal email client (like Microsoft Outlook) to run a newsletter. It is very time consuming to manually add and remove subscribers from your list. You also run the risk of being shut down by your webhost if you send to many emails at once.

I recommend you use an autoreponder service like aweber right from the start. You will be able to create signup forms for your website. Adding and removing of subscribers is done automatically, and you can schedule messages to go out at a certain date and time.

You can use the actual autoresponder feature to your advantage by creating a series of newsletters that are not time sensitive. Each new subscriber will receive the newsletter editions you have written in sequence starting with message 1. All you have to do is add a new message each week, or month. Of course you can also send time sensitive messages - like a holiday promotion - to your entire list right away.

To encourage visitors to your site to subscribe to the newsletter, add a signup form on each page of your site. It also helps to offer them something free for subscribing. Create a report, or even an ebook related to the topic of your newsletter and use the autoreponder feature to automatically send it to them when they sign up.

Try to stay in touch with your subscriber list at least once per month; preferably twice per month or even weekly. You could see the first sales coming in within a few weeks. I encourage
you to give it a try. Newsletters are one of the most powerful affiliate tools and they are easy to implement.

Affiliate Tip - Build A Website

By Nell Taliercio

One of the first things you should do as an affiliate marketer is to build you own website. Yes, you can market affiliate programs without it by adding links to your email or signature file on message boards, but you will be very limited in how much you can earn this way. Building a website allows you to expose the products you are promoting to a much larger audience with less effort.

Decide on a Topic

Your first step is to decide what you would like your website to be about. Find a topic you like, something you are passionate about. You will be spending a lot of time creating content for your site, so it may as well be something you enjoy reading and writing about. Your enthusiasm for the subject will shine through as well, and will get your visitors interested. Once you have your topic, make sure there are affiliate products available that compliment the site and that there are people interested in buying it.

Pick a Domain Name

Use a site like register.com, or your web host's site to research available domain names. It helps to have one of your major keywords in your domain name. So if you decided your website will be about growing roses, try to work "rose" in the domain name. You want your domain name to be easy to remember and easy to type. Try to avoid using dashes in the name and find something that's available as a dot com address.

Hosting

The next step is to set up a web hosting account. You should be able to get by with a basic personal website package to begin with. Get some recommendations from others when it comes to choosing the actual hosting company. You want a service that is reliable and has good customer service. After all, you won't be making any money when you site is down. I have been using Dayana hosting for years and highly recommend them.

Site Builder or Software

Let's talk about how you can build your website. Your options are using a site builder, like internetbasedfamilies.com or software like Microsoft FrontPage, or my favorite x-site pro. A site builder is usually easier to use in the beginning and hosting is included. You will pay a monthly fee for the software and hosting combined. If you build your site using software like x-site pro or FrontPage, you have the added initial expense of buying the software, but your monthly hosting costs are usually lower. Of course a third option is to have someone else design the site for you. You should still get familiar with the site builder or software, so you can make changes to the site.

Getting Traffic To The Site

Your last step will be getting traffic to your site. Optimize your pages for search engines to get free traffic. You can also write articles and submit them to article directories. Pay per click advertising and buying ads on other related sites or newsletters are also great ways to drive traffic to your site.

How To Start Your Own Affiliate Program

By Stephen Pope

1. Why Start Your Own Affiliate Program?

Multiple web sites and distributors selling your product can result in increased sales and profits. Unlike conventional advertising, affiliate programs pay only for performance. Commissions are not paid out unless sales are made.

Also, with many more web sites linking to yours, your link popularity is sure to increase in search engines, resulting in additional traffic and income.

2. Combine a Merchant Account with Your Affiliate Program

If your product is downloadable (such as electronic books or software), you might consider ClickBank.com. For a $49.95 initial fee, you can process credit cards and on-line cheques for $1.00 per transaction plus 7.5% of sales. As an added bonus, you have your own built-in affiliate program.

ClickBank gives you a listing on their web site and visitors can buy your products and join your affiliate program. You choose the commission rate you are willing to pay. All commission payments are handled by ClickBank. One downside is that you can`t run a two-tiered program.

3. Use an Affiliate Program Script

If you are comfortable with running CGI scripts, you may wish to install your own affiliate program on your server and administer the affiliate program yourself.

Be forewarned, though, that this is a lot of work. You will be responsible for all the testing, security, commission payments, promotion and so on. Another downside: Will your potential affiliates trust you since their commissions are not tracked and paid by an independent third party?

4. Use a Hosted Solution

There are good reasons for not hosting your affiliate program on your server. Perhaps you don`t have the time to administer all the aspects of an affiliate program. Maybe your time could
be used more productively in other areas of your business. Additionally, an independent third party tracking and paying affiliate commissions inspires confidence in prospective affiliates. Finally, you just might benefit from the additional exposure that an affiliate network brings you.

ClixGalore.com is an example of an affiliate network. You will need to pay a $75.00 deposit to cover affiliate commissions. They charge 25% of any affiliate commissions paid. For example, if you paid an affiliate a 10% commission on a $100.00 sale, you would pay the affiliate $10.00 and ClixGalore $2.50.

With ClixGalore, you can also have a two-tier program. Taking the above example, if you paid affiliates for finding other affiliates, you might pay 2% on your second tier. That would be another $2.00 commission and $ .50 affiliate network fee for a total of $15.00 in commissions on both levels.

5. For All Affiliate Programs

Setup your own web page (or pages) outlining the benefits of your affiliate program. Offer articles, suggestions, text and banner links, and other useful support for your affiliates.

Offer a generous commission so that others feel motivated to sell for you. Obtain the e-mail addresses of your affiliates so that you can keep in touch with them to aid them to sell more.

For increased traffic, sales and profits, start your own affiliate program.

How to Choose Your Affiliate Program Wisely

By Trent Brownrigg

Affiliate marketing programs have sky-rocketed in popularity in the past few years. As one of the fastest and easiest ways to start an online home business people are jumping on this wave by the millions. Affiliate programs offer merchants the opportunity to employ vast armies of sales people who get paid for the results they achieve.

The rewards for affiliates can be very good, and the skilled affiliate marketer can earn many thousands of dollars a month. This win-win situation has led to an explosion in the number of affiliate programs that are available to affiliate marketers.

With this growth of affiliate opportunities have come many questions, such as: how do you go about choosing the right affiliate program for you? What qualities should you look for in a program and which gives you a good chance of making a sustainable income? Below are some tips that will help you to evaluate affiliate programs, and help you to avoid wasting time and money.

What Commissions Does the Program Pay?

It is very important that you know how much you can expect to earn from a sale. There is no point in spending time and money promoting a product that pays very small commissions. You could end up spending more on marketing than you make on sales. It is probably best to stick with marketing products with a high commission value, unless you have found a niche market where you can sell vast quantities of product, and make substantial commissions on your volume of sales.

How Much Traffic is their Website Getting?

Try to discover the amount of traffic the affiliate owner's website is already receiving. Alexa.com is a very useful tool for doing this research. If the website is ranked in the top 100,000, the merchant is getting a good volume of traffic, so it's possible that there may already be too many affiliates. If it is ranked below 500,000 it may be no good, or it could be a golden opportunity to make some real money by becoming one of the first affiliates!

Always research a merchant's product if their website has a low traffic ranking. It may be a good idea to buy the product yourself if you can afford it. Otherwise you could do a search to find out if there are any negative reviews about it on the internet. Be careful who you listen to
though because many people are in the habit of bashing affiliate programs with nothing to really support their comments. If you find a large amount of negative reviews with little positive ones then it would probably be a good idea to stay away from that affiliate program.

How Often Are Affiliate Commissions Paid?

Some affiliate programs pay commissions every week; some once a month, others only pay every quarter. It is important that you know how often you can expect a pay check if you are going to have financial control over your business. Do you have the financial resources to ontinue to market a product if you have to wait a long time before you get paid? It would also be wise to find out the minimum commission that you have to earn before you get paid.

Does The Affiliate Program Use Tracking Cookies?

Many customers do not buy on their first visit to a merchant's website. It is important therefore that the merchant uses cookies for their affiliate program, so that you get credit if the customer returns and buys at a later date. Check out how long the cookies last. The longer the cookies lasts; the better the chances of you getting paid!

Does the Affiliate Program Pay on Subsequent Sales?

Some programs will only pay commission on sales that come through customers visiting their site via a direct link from your site. They pay you nothing for any subsequent purchases that the customer makes if they visit the merchants site directly. It is important that you get paid no matter what route the customer returns by if you are to build a sustainable affiliate business.

What Marketing Resources Does the Affiliate Program Offer?

Look at the type and quality of the marketing resources that they provide. Do they provide articles, advertisements, or other content that you can use to put on your site? Do they provide free guides, special offers, free viral e-books, or product samples that you can send to your list? If the marketing material they provide is good then it is likely that the business will provide good support for their affiliates.

Finding the right affiliate program for you can be tough to do. The best advice is to do your own research, follow the advice above, and listen to your instincts. Use the above questions as an aid to finding an affiliate program that enables you to reach your financial goals. You never know... You might just strike affiliate marketing gold!

How To Motivate Affiliates To Generate More Sales

By Pawel Reszka

A set of motivated and enthusiastic affiliates mean more money and revenue for your affiliate business. If you want to retain high quality affiliates, then here are some tricks to keep them motivated and inspired.

1. Commission rates

Let's face it at the end of the day we are all driven by rewards and remuneration. So if you want your affiliates to perform to their best ability you need to provide substantial commissions too. Usually in the case of high-end goods like digital products, you can provide a 70-30 percent commission break-up. That means you get to retain the 30% commission and provide the affiliates with 70% of the profits. That will surely keep your affiliates motivated and encouraged to work well.

2. Long term commissions

On a long term basis, you could consider even providing a 100% commission to your affiliates. Once they know that they are going to get a substantial profit, they will tend to work harder
and promote your products heavily. While such an approach is sure to eat into your profit margin, it will ensure retrieving more customers onto your database. So although you might not
earn much initially due to the 100% commission package, you will make up for it with an influx of good quality customers in the long run.

3. Ready, pluggable content

The good quality affiliates always like affiliate merchants who have ready available content. It enables them to work immediately and start on promoting and earning commissions. So if you want to start getting headway into sales and product promotions, make sure your affiliates have instant access to good quality promotional material.

4. Imbibe best practices

There's a reason why some affiliate programs are really successful. It might help if you were to sign up for such programs as an affiliate. That way you get to see firsthand how the programs get managed. You can look at their business model up close and even use parts of it for your own affiliate business as well.

5. Realistic goals

Nothing de-motivates an affiliate more than unachievable goals and unrealistic expectations. When it comes to your affiliate products, make sure you have lain down some definite criteria
and goals which are perfectly achievable. That way, once those goals are achieved, the confidence and morale of the affiliates will be boosted.

6. Don't ignore the smaller ones

One mistake affiliate merchants make is to focus on the motivated performing affiliates and completely ignore the smaller revenue earning ones. This is a big mistake because although they may not be performing as well as the others, they are still bringing in a certain chunk of revenue. If you ignore them, they might get de-motivated enough to leave your affiliate program. That will result in a huge setback to your business.

7. Establish a 2 Tier program

Two tier programs are very much sought after these days. They not only allow an affiliate to capitalize on the actual sale but also when they recommend and include a new candidate one level below. This is a double incentive kind of program which is sure to keep your affiliates motivated. Plus, it also gets you more promotion and sales.

8. Train them adequately

It is essential to train and educate your affiliates as much as possible. It's only when they have a fair understanding of the product that they can propagate and promote it effectively. So make sure to conduct workshops, training sessions and seminars to provide as much information and practical know-how of the product.

9. Create tools which affiliates like

Another tactic which really helps is to develop tools and resources which affiliates like to use. This way you get to attract more top quality talent. Plus, it's essentially a win-win situation where both you and the affiliate get more commissions and sales. While your affiliates will promote your products better, you will earn more profits and they will earn more commissions.

10. Targeted affiliates

One of the tricks to keeping your affiliates always motivated and happy is by finding affiliates who are interested in what you are selling. If they aren't interested, you cannot possibly expect them to promote your products effectively. Therefore, you could try searching in relevant sites and even in competitor websites to search for affiliates who promote similar products online.

Top 10 Affiliate Marketing Strategies

By Pawel Reszka

Being an affiliate marketer can be tough. Not only do you always have to reinvent yourself, you also need to stay ahead in the race. Here are the best 10 ways in which you can ensure your affiliate marketing stays on top:

a. Content

The content on your site needs to be catchy, interesting and search engine friendly. You need to talk about your products in an unbiased and neutral manner, while also highlighting their benefits. You could include product reviews which describe the products in a neutral manner. It's all about employing your creativity, uniqueness while also including useful, informative articles which educate readers.

b. Include testimonials

Customer testimonials aren't just about fancy comments and glorified praises. They help establish credibility in your products, enable other customers to trust you and your products. Try and make it a practice to include as many testimonials and quotes from customers as you possibly can. This will help build your brand identity and reputation to a great extent.

c. Optins

Optins are a great way to increase your customer base. You could request customers to subscribe to newsletters and products etc. on your site. This way you get to add to the list of customer contacts in your database. It also helps in the long run, when you need to reach out to customers for future marketing and promotional campaigns. Whenever you need to launch a new product or start a new marketing campaign, you can just email promotional material to these very same customers.

d. Relevant traffic

Many affiliate marketers make the big mistake of attracting traffic for the sake of it. When it comes to affiliate marketing, what's more important is quality as opposed to quantity. It makes sense to have targeted and relevant traffic come into your site, rather than having an influx of visitors who aren't interested in purchasing anything on your site. By attracting relevant traffic, you are essentially bringing in a `warm market' on your site, which in turn guarantees better conversion rates and hence sales.

e. Theme based

When you have an affiliate site you need to have a central theme and essence to build on your brand better. Therefore, if your website theme is all about cars and spare parts, the products you advertise should also refer to such relevant topics. By having associated products on your site, you establish a better brand reputation. Besides, customers are more likely to take you seriously when you show focus in your website.

f. Printer friendly

When you publish content on your site, most people will want to read it offline as well. This is truer, if your content is lengthy. If an article is lengthy but interesting enough, people will want to take a printout of the article and then read it at their leisure. So ensure that you have a link at the bottom of the article stating that it's printer friendly.

g. Navigability

You always need to have a site map for easy access to users. In today's fierce competition, if users can't find what they're looking for on your site, they'll go elsewhere. That's why, it's important to place a site map through which they can easily access the particular section they are looking for.

h. Freebies

Nothing attracts customers more than freebies - and the more the freebies the more customers you will have on your list. Plus, in this way you can spread the word about your business to other customers. Free resources and products are always sought after by customers and it greatly enhances your brand value online.

i. FAQs

Customers always have questions they will want to ask about your products on the site. You could probably think and act like a customer would and come up with a set of probable questions customers would ask. Try and categorize the FAQs so that customers can easily find the answers they are looking for.

j. Contact details and feedback

Make sure you include your contact information on the site. That way, customers can easily reach out to you if they need to ask something or post a feedback. Also ensure to include a feedback form on your site so customers can leave their suggestions and opinions about your site.
