How to Use Your Articles To Create Ebooks

By Maria Marsala,

Who would have thunk it? You've completed several written articles on the same topic - a good idea if you want to become known as an expert. Now you want to turn those articles into a money making ebook. But how to do it? What's next? What do you need?

You could simply take your articles, jam them into a PDF file, and call it an ebook. However, if you want your ebook to reflect your professional, credible self, and get you "this" much closer to creating a "book", then follow the steps below:

1. Start with a word processing program, such as MS Word.

2. Place all of your articles in an order that will make sense to a reader.

3. Make sure that concepts flow. How? One key step is to remove redundancies that occur because each article was originally free standing.

4. Find ways to connect the first article to the 2nd article. A copywriter or editor can easily do this.

5. Leave lots of white space on each page. At least one-inch right and left margins because it makes the page easier to read.

6. The font size for the text on the page should be at least 11 or 12 points. This is especially true if your ideal clients are over 40 years old. Many people use Arial or Verdana for ebooks since it's easier on the eyes than Times Roman.

7. You want pictures or illustrations scattered throughout the document. However, you don't want to use the clip art that came with your computer. First that art is for personal, not commercial use. Secondly, you want to look professional and not thought of as cheap. There are low cost graphics for sale on the Internet for you to use.

8. Titles and sub-titles should be a much larger font than the text. Don't underline titles because people will think that they're supposed to click on them; instead, use bold, color or italicize them. You can even use special fonts, like Tahoma for titles.

9. By formatting your ebook like a professional, it will be easier for you to turn it into a book! How? Read the next few tips.

10. Create an eye pleasing cover page for the ebook, and a cover that looks like a book cover, for use on your web site. Add pictures within your ezine but remember, you don't own clip art, and you can't use it for monetary gain. Have your designer add graphics that you own.

11. The first few pages after the cover should be numbered with roman numerals. --Page ii is for testimonials from clients and those who have read and used the ebook. --Page iii is your publisher information page with copyright information. Open a book and you'll see this important page! --Page iv can be used for acknowledgments of others that you'd like to mention. --Page v tells others how to use the ebook. --Page vi is an Introduction to the book, written by you or someone else.

12. NOW comes your ebook, and it is numbered, 1, 2, 3 etc. Make sure you include: --Then comes the table of contents which can link to the pages the topics are placed. --Within the ebook be sure and invite readers to visit your web site. --In an appropriate place of your ebook, maybe in the middle, offer a special on a product that the reader of the ebook may enjoy. --Again, to get people to your web site, place additional resources on a page on your site and link from the book to that page. --Create a "Call to Action" on your next to the last page! Again, the goal is to get your readers to your web site. --Don't forget to create an all about you and your company page ... with your picture!

13. Next convert your ebook to PDF format, making sure that all the links in the ebook are clickable.

14. Research shipping cart software or programs to use to sell your product online.

15. Consider creating an affiliate program for your product and let others help you market your product in return for a commission.

Remember that even 8 x 5 1/2 books only need 64 pages to be bound! If your ebook is more than 30 pages in a Word Document, chances are you've also created a book!

Congratulations. You've completed your ebook!

Now, you're ready to price and promote your ebook.

Reselling Someone Else's E-book Can Help You Make Money At Home

By Alan Lim

Today the craze to make money at home has gained new heights. Almost anyone who is remotely serious about starting a home based business is looking at innovative ways to make money at home. E-book re-selling is one such lucrative option.

Why re-sell an e-book?

There are many reasons why trying to resell an already written e-book can do wonders for your business. Here we outline some of the top reasons:

  1. No need to write: Since you are trying to sell a pre-existing e-book - there is no need to reinvent the wheel. The e-book has already been written - which means you just need to pull out relevant facts and sell those through your own e-book. This way it is a great way to make money at home.
  2. High pay outs: Reselling an e-book can prove to be a great way to make money at home - for people in the business. Commissions are very good and if your e-book manages to be successful it can mean good income streams for you. You can choose to upload your e-book on your site or blog and soon you will see traffic and income flowing into your site.
  3. Referrals: By referring customers to already written e-books you can earn commissions for every click through. Thus every time customers visit the e-book author's site through your referral you can make money at home.

Ways to promote the e-book

Once you have found the e-books you wish to promote, you will need to start advertising and publicizing these to start to make money at home. There are several ways you can successfully promote the e-books.

  1. Compelling, interesting copy: The key to success to make money at home through reselling e-books is to provide useful interesting information to customers. So don't just provide links to the e-book author's site. Instead provide information on why the e-book is great, what are the benefits etc.
  2. Optimization: By using good SEO tactics you can increase more chances at customers visiting your website. If more traffic visits your site, the more your chances to make money at home. It will also increase the page ranking of your site. It is essential to optimize every page on your site for maximum sales.

  3. Blogging: Blogs are another great way to promote the e-books you're trying to resell. By providing good opinion you influence customer opinion - which can mean more sales. This will ensure you easily make money at home.

Increasing success at sales

The key to keep attracting customers is by updating content on a regular basis. Whether you're using a blog to promote the e-book or some other medium you need to keep posting new content. This will ensure you make money at home quickly, successfully and almost the very next day since initiation.

Getting Creative With Private Label Rights Ebooks

By Paul Kleinmeulman

When the majority of people purchase private label rights ebooks, they simply revise the content a little, slap their name and website link inside of them, and then load them to sell. But there are a lot more creative ways to profit from private label rights ebooks.

Note: For readers who may not be familiar with what private label rights (PLR), they basically let people market somebody else's product as their own. Check the rights of your purchases
for exact details, as some vary and may have stipulations, like you can't sell the items on eBay. The bottom line with PLR is that you get to keep all profits from your sales.

Creative Ideas

Since other people can also sell these PLR products, the more you can make yours unique, the better chance you have to sell more copies and to sell them at a higher price, since the value increase with less (or no) competition out in the marketplace. Make yours unique by:

  1. Modifying, altering, rearranging or otherwise enhance the acquired product then sells it. Change the chapters around, insert extra articles, add a Table of Contents. The sky's the limit on the number of changes you can make.
  2. Insert quotes from experts in the industry along with their photos or photos of the featured topics. See if you can interview your experts and add their audio or video clips, too. Ebooks are multi-dimensional, so don't think `flat' but rather outside the box here.
  3. Dress up the contents with background colors, images, borders. And insert a custom cover image that matches one you add to your website or blog, too.
  4. Add money-making avenues inside your ebook. You can include GoogleT Adsense, banners ads, classified listings, display ads, sponsorship ads.
  5. Invite interaction. Include a survey inside your ebook and offer a free accompanying guidebook or report when readers complete the survey. If part of your ebook is being offered as a freebie (another creative idea!) go viral, and tell readers that get another free report or other special offer when they pass the ebook along to a friend who will also complete the survey.
  6. Split up the ebook's content and make a learning series out of it complete with a PowerPoint presentation and short series of autoresponder messages for your leads generating system.
  7. Make blog posts out of the ebook content and include creative ideas from above in your blog, too.

In summary, Internet marketers need to take a fresh look at private label rights ebooks. Explore the many avenues available today to add some creativity to the content and make them even more profit for your operations while growing your online business.

All the best for your online success.

Ebooks - Residual Prosperity

By Scott Lindsay

The use of ebooks as an affiliate revenue stream can be a solid business platform especially for a virtually hands-free business providing residual income.

Many businesses utilize some form of affiliate revenue source for products they either don't want to carry on items that have a solid track record.

There are two primary types of ebook affiliate revenue programs.

Flat Rate/Commission

The first is a traceable link that provides an accounting for all sales derived through your specific web link. The residual income is derived through a percentage or flat rate on each ebook sale. The ultimate sale is conducted through a third party site with a check or electronic transfer made when sales reach a certain threshold or they can be made monthly (depending on the ebook company). This scenario may not require any upfront costs.

Reseller

This program allows you to pick ebooks that you feel most comfortable with. You can purchase as many, or few, as you want. You can place these ebooks on your site and keep all the income derived from the sale of the ebooks. This scenario requires full payment for the resell rights to the ebook, however the return on the investment can be substantial in a well marketed website.

In either case, an investment of a website, design and placement of ebook sale and download information may be the primary elements needed to engage in ebook sales with residual income. The sales can be made through a portal site (in the flat rate/commission scenario) or through a dedicated business site (in the reseller scenario).

The strong desire for knowledge-based material combined with the phenomenal growth of ebooks makes this affiliate program a strong contender for positive residual income.

Sell Your Own Ebook

You could develop your own ebooks for sale using your individual expertise. This can provide the greatest return because you are not simply receiving royalties you get to keep all the funds that are derived from the sale of the ebook. Many business owners use their own ebooks as well as those they have purchased for resale on their business site. Others use their ebook along with an affiliation with a third party site to allow visitors to access the greatest number of ebook
purchases.

No matter how you develop it, an ebook business can provide significant residual income. The fact that ebook sales are hands-free make product fulfillment something you don't have to worry about. The customer downloads the ebook once payment has been made - you simply reap the benefit.

MP3 Books: The Digital University For Busy People

By Lu Smith

Time schedules are packed solid these days for most of us. Can you easily set aside time for some old-fashioned reading? Bet it's a chore to do it. Yet, without reading any books, learning's put on the proverbial back burner. Have you been missing fun and entertainment reading, too?

There is a solution to this problem. MP3 books and the progress in computer technologies are here to help all of us who crave to be well-read regardless of time demands.

Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and other top business speakers of America have mentioned the phrase "university on wheels" in their presentations countless times. First, the hidden magic behind the phrase doesn't sink in at all. "So what, there's nothing new or revolutionary about it," you may say. But, once you give it deeper attention, there opens a new world of possibilities.

And it all happens effortlessly over relatively a short period of time.

What the top speakers are referring to is the powerful value you get from listening to professional recorded books while driving to and from work every morning.

You see, instead of "wasting" as many as 2 or often more hours every single day while commuting to work; now you have a choice that can swiftly change your life.

Some people turn on the radio while driving to work and spend the time listening to music or the news. There's nothing wrong with that.

Now, though, here is a fact worth considering.

Did you know that just by listening to various quality recorded books every morning, as you commute to work, can help you turn into an expert on that topic within a short period of time?

It's like going through a private university without the financial and have-to-attend-lectures needs.

Worth considering, isn't it? Especially with the flexibility recorded books offer.

I know the idea might not make sense to you just yet, but stay with me while I try to explain why I said that.

Think about it, in some university degree programs, students spend no more than 10 hours weekly attending their lectures. And after a few years they get their degrees framed on the
wall.

And what do they mostly do during these 10 hours each week?

You guessed it - they mainly "listen" to their lecturers to be able to write their exams.

Many people miss this fact. You can get the same value from just listening to the right audio books. And that's in the field or area of expertise you want to learn about minus writing the exams.

I realize that no university will give you a degree certificate after you have completed your chosen recorded books. But as they say, knowledge is power. And specialized knowledge put to good use is the winning ticket of how to get ahead in today's world.

Did you know there are certain professional audio book programs that will give you exams after completing their training programs... and will give you a certificate for passing their course?

Many such certificates can be used in certain places to give evidence of your expertise in that area.

You turned a specialized expert in what interests you? And all the transformation occurred while you were driving and barely noticed it?

In that case, why would you continue to "waste" valuable time on your daily commute? As they say, you can "kill 2 birds with one stone" by using the same hours to learn a new skill. How about a new business idea, a new profession perhaps?

To start, ask yourself what new skill or expertise you'd love to learn. When you've picked a few topics of interest, hop online and search for recorded books or MP3 books you'd like to start with.

Once you grab them, you can start your "university on wheels" program next time you drive to and from work.

Recorded books come in downloadable MP3 formats, on CDs, or cassettes. Today's brilliant technologies give you choices hard to ignore.

Come to think of it, even if you don't drive to work, you can easily do it. Grab a portable CD, cassette or Mp3 player and still benefit from your "digital university on wheels" program `cause audio books can go with you anywhere - anytime. The "wheels" can even be the ones on your rollerblades, bicycle, or a skateboard.

Become an expert on any topic through the transformational power of MP3 books. The process of how to do it is simple. All you need to do is to follow through on your decision to become one. You'll be amazed what recorded books can do for you.

Ebooks And Growing Residual Income

By Scott Lindsay

From a consumer's point of view the cost of ebook purchases are undeniably less expensive than their paper counterpart. Many of these ebooks can be downloaded to portable devices allowing consumers to read the material virtually anywhere they go.

Mainstream publishers have caught the vision and have provided several high profile titles as ebook downloads. Some established authors are testing the waters by making new titles available exclusive by ebook download. This very action helps us understand the belief that ebooks may well be the maverick future of publishing.

Whether you have a work that is non-fiction and knowledge-based or a work of fiction, the self-distribution of your manuscript as an ebook allows you the greatest return on investment while giving you maximum control over the creative direction of your manuscript.

Another benefit comes in the worldwide availability of the ebook. You do not have to worry about the book making it to brick and mortar stores because it can be purchased and downloaded by anyone with an Internet connection.

Some authors have moved forward with traditional publishing techniques and find they either lose some control over the direction of the manuscript or, if they self-publish, they are saddled with significant upfront costs as well as warehousing issues.

The development of an ebook is a fraction of the cost of self-publishing while enabling the author to receive similar or greater returns.

The use of an ebook reseller allows you to release your creative work and permit someone else the opportunity to resell your work and account for the payment of all downloads. It should be noted there is typically a fee associated with this service, but for many, the hands-free nature of the service makes it an attractive proposition.

This situation also provides a means of moving forward with new manuscripts without the need to deal with managing the sale and distribution of your completed works.

Ebooks have become a solid means of achieving home-based business success. There are reports of many successful ebook businesses that have supplied their owners with enough money to pay the majority of their monthly bills without the need for constant oversight. Essentially these entrepreneurs are finding ebooks are a perfect compliment to other passions or interest these owners may have in business.

Many web-based entrepreneurs have discovered that income derived from a residual source (like ebook sales) is a prime component to a feeling of freedom when there is a need to take some time away from a home-based business.

How To Convert Every Visitor To Your Website Into A Subscriber

By Gerald Mason

If a person visits your website and leaves, chances are that he or she will not come back, especially if there are no compelling reasons to do so. After all, we all behave rather impulsively on the Internet, so much so that we can easily forget where we were 10 web pages ago.

But the bottom line is that your visitor may not come back to your website again. If 1,000 visitors visit your website, leave and never come back again, you can imagine the amount of potential revenue lost, simply because they do not come back. You could have converted a fraction of the visitors into your customers.

Some may say that creating unique content can keep some of the visitors coming back, but very often, unique content is not the solution. The real, long-term solution lies in converting your visitors into subscribers of your mailing list.

Before your visitor leaves your website, you want to convert him or her into your subscriber via a simple opt-in to your mailing list. You do this by asking for your visitor's name and email address through your opt-in form.

And if your visitor signs up to be on your mailing list, you can still follow up with him via email. You can get your subscriber to consider your offer, or endorse another offer to him or her.

All in all, you want to convert as many visitors into subscribers as possible and obtain the potential revenue you rightfully deserve - the easy, wise way.

Another way is to use a virus to attract and keep visitors to your site.

Think about how a virus spreads from on person to another.

One person gets sick and just by sneezing they can give the virus to many more people. Those people get sick and share their germs with everyone they know and the next thing anybody knows is that there is an epidemic.

That is the very concept of viral marketing. The idea is to get everyone to spread your marketing message around because they want to.

Now let's look at using an E-book to start your viral marketing campaign.

First you create an E-book. a really good one that has links to your website, to your sales page and affiliate links to products and services that you recommend. and you give it to three people. In the book you encourage those three people to give it to their friends and family.

Before you know it the E-book is spreading across the Internet like wild fire.

Digital information duplicates easily and quickly so before you know it, thousands of people could be reading your free E-book.

Make certain that you let people know that they have permission to forward the E-book around the Internet.

When you create the E-book, you have the right to give people certain rights. One of those rights could be that you allow them to give the book to other people. Make it clear that this book is free to give away.

If You Build It: An Ebook Portal

By Scott Lindsay

Did you know that you could resell ebooks that others have published? Did you know that you could often sell the work for less than the original author? Did you know you don't have to know how to write to start an ebook business?

In an agreement that is very similar to that of an affiliate you can retain the rights to resell a wide selection of ebooks that can produce several hundred dollars in net profit each month. I suppose what makes this venture popular with home-based businesses is that the hands-free nature of the business can allow them to work on other business projects while residual income is produced through ebook sales.

The benefit of reselling ebooks has to do with the ability to provide a selection of titles that appeal to a wide range of consumers. In some scenarios you can sell a personal ebook if you have one, but the primary sales will be through the reselling of other titles.

Why would authors allow you to resell their work when it's already for sale on the web?

The reasoning has everything to do with marketing and visibility. Essentially you become a part of the sales force for the book - one more store in a chain selling the ebook. By creating additional websites that make the book available the hope is the volume of ebook downloads will allow the ebook to provide increased revenue for all involved.

It is likely an ebook reselling business will not provide enough revenue to make it a viable stand-alone business, but it can provide a significant residual income that can reduce the overall burden of a home-based business startup.

Ebook reselling is one of the few examples of a home-based business that requires very little maintenance while continuing to allow for potential income even when you are away from the office. The automated shopping cart process and file download can all be managed without your direct involvement.

The overall dynamic of ebook sales is a potential boon to the publishing industry because it provides proof that a new distribution method is not only possible, it is also valued and a cost effective alternative. The end result is a quick start up for authors, publishers, and home-based businesses. For the consumer, immediate access to these ebooks from any location on the globe is a benefit traditional publishers can not always promise.

The many benefits of reselling ebooks make it a home-based business worth looking into as a supplement to an existing job or as a sideline for an existing entrepreneurial effort.

The Historical Ebook

By Scott Lindsay

For less than $100 you could purchase a portable ebook device that will allow you to download an ebook and then take it with you when you're on the subway, train, automobile, job or school.

University students are downloading textbooks in many cases toan ebook reader that will store a variety of texts in a format that is light and easy to carry.

Your home PC or notebook can be outfitted with ebook software that will allow the viewing of purchased ebooks, but when and where did the ebook get it's start?

In the late 1960's a post-graduate student named Alan Kay had the concept of a product he describes as, "a portable interactive personal computer, as accessible as a book." What made Kay's statement all the more profound is that it was made prior to the development of a personal computer. Nearly twenty years would pass before something similar to his original vision was developed.

Franklin was the first company to provide an ebook type device. In 1986 Franklin launched a fully functional electronic dictionary. This would be followed in the early 90's by Sony's unveiling of the Electronic Book Player. This product used CD-ROM technology to provide book material for viewing. The limitations of this product gave way to the eBookMan. In both cases consumers were tied to the purchase of discs or cartridges in order to view book materials.

Other products such as Rocket and SoftBook were developed that actually allowed the first credible downloads of ebooks in the late 1990's.

Some ebook readers are even made to look generally like a book with an LCD screen. As electronics have become more sophisticated so, too, have the options for download and viewing.

The way ebooks are distributed in portable devices today is generally through portable PC, PDA or other similar devices. Because there is not a standard software platform for all ebooks there may be software that is required for you to read certain ebooks. Since most portable PC devices can easily connect with a PC through a USB cable or docking station it is not especially difficult to download the needed software.

While some of the early generation ebook devices are still available, many consumers find their limitations make them less desirable than a portable PC.

As handheld devices become more sophisticated we are seeing multi-use devices supporting a broad range of communication capabilities. Today it is a rare moment when we see someone without a means of personal communication they carry with them everywhere they go.

In the end, a growing number of ebooks are making the trip in portable fashion.

Make Money With Information Ebook Products: The Other End

By Stephanie Histockery

I don't like thinking of myself as the kind of person that has made it rich on the internet, but in some ways I am. I started out like most people, signing up for affiliate programs and promoting OTHER people's products. I'd make some money, nothing big. I couldn't help but think what it must be like for the people on the other end. I mean, think about it. They sell their item directly and then you do the work for them which rake in more sales. I wanted to be on that end of the market. So I decided to start my own website selling information products which I purchased from vendors. Let me tell you, resale rights are expensive.

I tried those stupid eBay e-books that offer resell rights but they offer them for a reason. Because they are hard to sell and usually won't make that much money. So after years of trying
different products, I finally found one that works. It was a product featured at www.subliminalblackbook.org. I took it at the advice of a fellow work-at-homer. I figured great, another e-book with resell rights. My friend told me to try and if I didn't make 10 sales, he would pay for it. What did I have to lose?

Three months later I am now making about $100 a day selling the same product. Here are some tips. First, buy a product that sells. The one I purchased at www.subliminalblackbook.org was
an amazing find. You can try that or another product. Just make sure it can convert. Next get a domain name that contains your product keyword in the URL. Now submit to search engines. Use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tips. Keep your keywords in your content. Write a great web copy and make sure you explain to visitors your BENEFITS not FEATURES. Example, an ROI (Return on Investment) calculator is a feature, the benefit is that it will save the consumer time and money. Keep our site professional and offer an email or phone number for help always.

Follow these tips and you should be getting traffic and conversions in no time. Let me know about your progress by contacting me.

Why You Should Write Ebooks

By Razvan Rovinaru

Maybe you are wondering why somebody who is selling something on the internet would start to write an ebook. Well I will tell you the reasons why anyone who is working from home online
should write an ebook

A very important factor is that ebooks can help you get traffic for your website. Everybody these days is constantly looking for new information. An ebook does just that, it provides information to people. The subject isn't that important as long as it is something people are interested in.

As an internet marketer an ebook will help you bring traffic to your website. If you publish a free ebook then you can expect to receive some valuable traffic from that ebook because it has a
very appealing thing: free information.

By giving your ebook for free you are in fact advertising yourself and your products. By adding affiliate links to products or services that you are providing you can earn some good money. Each time somebody will buy using those links you will get a commission.

Another good thing about writing ebooks is that by accumulating all that knowledge you become, in fact, an expert on that subject. This can help you since people in general prefer to
purchase products from somebody considered to be an expert, an authority. It is a proven fact that experts make more money than others.

Also you should permit people to give your ebook to others. This can only help you since you will get much more exposure. Also because this is a very reliable way to get some free advertising remember to set up an affiliate program for products that you have for sale. Place a link in each of your ebooks and direct people to join your affiliate program. By doing this your affiliate network will grow and you will also generate some sales.

By sending out your free ebook you can in fact expand your business. There is a saying between internet marketers "The money is in the list" and this is true. The bigger your mailing list the easier it is for you to make some real money. Ebooks can help you increase your mailing list because when people sign up for them they must give you their contact information. So every time you give away an ebook you actually help your mailing list grow.

I showed you today just a few reasons why an ebook is a valuable tool for your online business. Ebooks are something that every internet marketer should write since the advantages they bring are obvious. Remember to use your ebooks wisely and they will help you generate a healthy profit.

What Name Do You Give That Article Or Book?

By Dee Owens

The title of my book is as important as the characters
themselves. So the name of the book is as important as the
characters themselves. You can choose an important event as I
did in The title of my book is as important as the characters
themselves. In my first I named my book La Roe's after the
Heroine in which the story was told from her POV, Secondly it
also describes part of her. La Roe means The Red and her first
name Emerald means Green she consequentially has red hair and
green eyes. La Roe's is also about an entire family in which
her children will come to play mainly her daughter which
according to family tradition will be named La Roe also.

So the name of the book is as important as the characters
themselves. You can choose an important event As Fay's Wish in
which the mother a Fay makes a wish for her daughter. Then in
Mystic Inn it represents the hotel, and Vampires Revenge
represents the revenge our heroine will play on the hero. I
think the name should give a clue to the reader of something
grand about to take place.

So how to name you MS, well as you right it an important scene,
place, person, or thing will stand out and hopefully shout use
me. I find that I don't know the name until that exact moment.
It is as hard as naming your Characters themselves, esp. if
they represent them.

One thing to remember though never force the name, it will come
to you and if you feel the need to name it temporarily then use
the heroine's hero's or even something such contemporary
romance, fantasy, or even pain in butt book 3 or whatever
number it is.

Buying The Right E-books To Resell - The Real Secret!

Solomon Huey

With so many E-books circulating around the Internet these
days, it is becoming near impossible to figure out which are
the best E-books to sell. There are thousands of topics ranging
from making money to wedding video photography. So the question
that plagues us, especially if you are just getting started in
the E-book business, is which ones should you buy first?

Let me tell you that I have purchased literally thousands of
E-books since starting in this industry. And surprisingly in an
industry that is not regulated and where you can publish E-books
yourself, over 50% of the E-books I have read have some very
good information inside of it. But despite having this great
content, only a select few ever truly hit it big and sells all
over the Internet. An important lesson to learn here is that
even if an E-book is well-written, has a nice sales page, and
has great features, it may not sell at all! Yet somehow the
obscure book I did not even want to waste my time with, such as
starting an Interior design business, ended up being a very good
seller.

So which products should you get? This is an important note
that every E-Book seller should remember and NEVER forget. Are
you ready to see it? If you forget this principle, your E-book
career may well go down the drain.

ANY E-Book can SELL!

That's right, any E-Book. How is this possible you ask? It is
very simple, regardless of what the E-book is written about,
there will always be someone interested in the topic. Just
because you and I may not find it useful or interesting, does
not mean that no one else wants it either.

I'm sure that you were hoping for some type of list of the
different types of best selling digital products, and trust me
I would love to give you one. But the reality is that it is
impossible to do so. Why is that? I will use a "Making money"
E-book as an example. Now the vast majority of people would
like to learn how to be wealthy, so there is an incredible
demand for products that teach regular people how to become
wealthy. But because there are so many people who want it,
thousands of companies make all different types of products on
how to make money. So even though you may find a topic with a
huge demand, there is also a huge amount of competition.

Now lets say you wanted to sell an E-book about how to take
care of a pet hamster. Hamsters are a fairly popular pet, but
nowhere near as popular as making money. With that in mind, the
demand for such information will probably be much, much smaller.
So does that mean you will not make much money? It could
actually mean you making more money! What if there were only a
handful of E-books that taught how to care for hamsters? Even
if the demand for the E-book is low, you could be one of the
few people to take control of the entire market for that
E-book. What if there are 1 million hamster owners, and you
were the only one catering to them?

The idea behind this lesson is not to look for certain types of
E-books, but instead to embrace them all. If you have a feeling
an E-book will make you a lot of money, by all means try to
sell it. But always be sure to give an E-book a chance to sell,
it can make the difference between a little bit of money and
wealth!

5 Reasons That eBooks Are Effective Communication Tools

By: Jim Estill

Ebooks are effective means of communicating. They allow you to express your ideas in a unique way that will reach many people. I have recently become an ebook convert, and I want to share with you the reasons that ebooks are the latest successful communication trend.

1. As Technology Advances, Communication Advances.

We live in a digital age. The popularity of blogs shows the influence that the internet has had on our communications. Communication theorists have argued that communication has developed from one-to-one (with pre-printing letters and books), to one-to-many (with the advent of the printing press) to many-to-many (with the internet). You no longer have to be a Harvard professor or famous novelist to reach many people: you can write an ebook and share it with many people. This democratization of knowledge is a step forward in the evolution of communication.

2. Convenience.

Because of the technology behind ebooks, they are immensely convenient. They can be accessed from anywhere. They can be stored, shared, or deleted as you want. You can browse through an ebook while you are at your desk to see if you want to read the book. You can even use the find or search function to find pertinent parts of the book.

Ebooks often contain hyperlinks that direct you to the sources of their information. This is like having interactive footnotes in a book. The hyperlinks in ebooks also make it easier for you find information that is cross-referenced within each volume.

Another convenient aspect of ebooks is their size. Frequently, ebooks are shorter than published hard-copy books. This means that the information is distilled, and easier to access than if you had to search through a printed book.

3. Empowering the Author.

If you were to try to publish a book, or even an article, through traditional publishing modes, you would have to deal with rejections, editors, and restrictions that each press has. With an ebook, you are free to make your choices about how you want to publish your material, and what material gets published. This kind of artistic integrity has all but vanished from the print-publishing industry.

Ebooks allow authors to self-publish without investing too much capital. If you choose to self publish a printed book, you will have many costs to consider in your overhead. Publishing an e-book can be a relatively inexpensive experience.

4. The Environment.

Gutenberg's printing press revolutionized written communication. Gutenberg's invention, however, was not environmentally friendly. Ebooks, as electronic forms of communications, help to conserve our planet's natural resources. You can write as much as you want and not worry about the forests that are being cut down to share your ideas when you choose to write an e book.

5. Your Readership.

This article lists many reasons that ebooks are convenient and effective for you, the author. The affordable cost, the artistic integrity, and the powerful new technologies are exciting things for you as an author. However, your readers will also thank you when you choose an ebook. The convenience of access is easier than with a hard-copy book, and as discussed earlier, the information within the book is easier to access.

So, the next time you are considering writing, consider writing an ebook. The next time you want something to read, consider reading an ebook. There is an entire market of books out there waiting to be written, and waiting to be read. Are you ready to join the frontiers of communication?

Nine Hot-Selling Points to Bring More Print and eBook Sales - Faster!

By Judy Cullins

Whether you write a print or an eBook, consider that when you know the "Essential Nine Hot-Selling Points." you will write a more focused, easy to read book, giving your potential readers the answers they seek.

Why write an eBook?

You want ongoing, lifelong streams of income. You want to raise your credibility and trust ratings with clients or customers, and get your message out so the world can be a better place.

Yet, you want to spend only a little time on it. (Would you be willing to spend 4 hours a week?) You want to get it out fast (Would 4-6 weeks be OK?). You want to market Online at a low-cost investment. And, for some of you, you are ready to be innovative and even take a small risk to get your eBook read by millions, rather than hundreds!

Where are You Now?

You have the idea for your eBook; you have a lot of ideas! Take a moment and decide which one you are most passionate about now and will be for the next year or so. Focus on one great idea, and then add others you know your online audience will buy. Wherever you are, you want to know what is the next step.

Always remember you can write your print and eBook at the same time. These tips refer to both publishing ways. Remember you can sell print or eBooks online and offline.

You have your eBook well on its way, but aren't finished. You need advice on how to get it done, what's needed to publish (not much!), and how to distribute it to attract Online or toll-free telephone sales.

Who Should Write and Self-Publish an eBook?

- If you are ready to invest a little to reap a great deal.
- If you are a businessperson who wants to serve a wider community.
- If you are willing to move much faster than traditional publishing
- If you want to create active, ongoing sources of income.

One method to help make your eBook successful is to know and apply the essential "Nine Hot-Selling Points." excerpted from "How to Write your eBook or Other Short Book--Fast!"

Nine Things to do Before Writing Your eBook

Every part of your book can be a sales tool. Include the below tips, and you'll sell more books than you ever dreamed of.

1. Write for your one preferred audience. Not everyone wants your book. Find out what audience wants/needs your book? What problems does your book solve for them? Create an audience profile and keep your audience's picture in front of you as you write. Ask yourself, is my topic narrow enough? The Chicken Soup For The Teenager, For The Prisoner, and other specific groups sold far more copies than the original Chicken Soup.

2. Write a sizzling book title including benefits. You have eight to ten seconds to hook your potential buyer. While an eBook cover doesn't need fancy graphics you will want to create one that can be printed both in color and black and white. It must be easy to see and read. Include a benefit or two in your title and cover to compel your audience to buy.

3. Write a thirty-second "tell and sell." You only have a few seconds to impress your potential buyer. Include your title, a few benefits, and the audience. Use sound bites to grab attention. “Write, Finish, and Publish your eBook Fast to Pull Online Sales” shows professionals how to shortcut each step of writing, publishing, and promoting a saleable short eBook.

Include a sound bite that grabs attention. Compare your book to a successful one such as "Passion at Any Age" is the "Artist's Way" for seniors.

4. Write your sales letter/back cover rough draft before you write your book. This guides you to deliver on your promises within the chapters. In it, include the benefits your potential buyers want. Include compelling headlines, other ad copy, benefits, testimonials, and a small blurb about you, the author. If your potential buyers like it, they will buy on the spot.

5. Write your Table of Contents (TOC). As you choose chapter topics, create a chapter title that hooks your reader. Instead of "Get the Support you Need," I chose "Passionate Support" for the book on passion. Include a short blurb after the title what benefits the reader will get. When people read your TOC they will see what really hooks them.

6. Write a list of your book's benefits. Without knowing these as your write your book, it won't answer your potential buyers' questions about your topic. Benefits show the value of your products. They solve your particular audience's problem! They show your clients and customers outcomes they will gain after they read your book. Some common benefits include: more money, less trouble, more time, less stress, desirable relationships, less drama and trauma, more zest and energy, and less fatigue.

7. Write your eBook's introduction. Start it with a hook, just like your chapter beginnings. Involve your audience right away with a question or comment that includes where they are now. Include the problem your audience has, why you wrote the book, and its purpose. In a few paragraphs, include more specific benefits, and how you will present it (format). Keep it under a page. Your introduction will help you write your Web and email sales letter. Think of it as a mini sales letter.

8. Create a table of contents. Each chapter should have a name, preferably a catchy one. If your reader can't understand the chapter title, then annotate it. Add some benefits or a sub title. In my first chapter called "Why Write an eBook?" I added this partial list of benefits: Ongoing lifelong multiple streams of income, credibility as the expert, products sell easily online, buyers are more targeted and hence you create more profit.

9. Reach out to opinion molders. After an initial contact of asking for feedback, resend them the same chapter and the table of contents of your book. Ask for a testimonial then. These influential contacts' testimonials will help promote your eBook Online. You'll want to include five or more in your book sales letter for your Web site or email promotion campaign.

Design every part of your eBook to be a sales tool. This beacon brings out your best: writing a compelling, understandable, and enjoyable book that millions of Online and offline buyers will want.

How To Produce The PERFECT Viral Ebook

By Harvey Segal

Viral marketing is probably the number one method for generating traffic and sales - IF it is set up properly.

Take the case of a viral ebook - which means a book that can be passed from one person to another bringing benefits (profits) for each party in turn.

How is this achieved ?

The basic concept is that the book contains links to affiliate products. When a reader of the book makes a purchase from a link then the affiliate receives the commission.

The creator of such a book will allow some of the links to be 'rebranded' which means a person(who we will refer to as the rebrander) can replace them with his own affiliate codes thus collecting commission. This is the obvious incentive for him to pass the book around and begin the viral progression.

If we want to maximize the benefits for everyone and create the perfect viral ebook we need to have THREE key factors in place.

1) Wide Distribution

There are many permutations in the ways that you can offer an ebook. It can be free or paid, and for either option you can charge for rebranding or offer it free; plus you can have part customization or full customization. On top of that, for a paid book you can offer resale rights and even the right to grant resale rights.

Let's keep it simple.

What we want is the widest possible distribution so that we get the most commission from the affiliate links.

So we will have a FREE book and FREE rebranding rights.

2) Quality Affiliate Links

It goes without saying that your book should contain good content on a topic of interest.

But will readers click on those affiliate links ?

The answer is 'NO' if you copy the poor example of many authors, for instance:

- have you ever opened an ebook and been faced with a barrage of affiliate links ?

- or seen affiliate products which have nothing to do with the theme of the book ? For example in a book about hypnotism you get a link to a web hosting company.

So what is the best way ?

The secret is to have highly relevant links and weave them naturally into the content in a low key style without appearing to push for a sale. So when you discuss a particular topic and want to show where more detail can be found, or how a particular problem can be solved, that's where you can mention the affiliate product as a source of further information. If you want to see really good examples of how to do this read the free book at the end of this article.

See - that last sentence was an ACTUAL working example of how to weave in a link.

3) Maximum Return For Both Parties

You need to get the rebranding balance right.

If you give away an ebook and allow all the affiliate links to be rebranded that is a great deal for the rebrander - but what do you get out of it ? No affiliate commission, just subscribers maybe for your mailing list if you have a sign-up form in the book.

Conversely if you hand out only a few affiliate links for rebranding then that provides little incentive for the rebrander to distribute the book.

Ideally what you want is the maximum motivation for your rebrander which would be

* to allow free rebranding
* to allow ALL the links to be rebranded

but in a way that you can still benefit.

Can that be possible ?

Fortunately it is, using any of 3 different methods

* if the links in the book are for your own products

* If the links are for products for which you have resale rights

* If the links are for 2-tier affiliate programs so that you collect the 2nd tier commission when a rebrander, who has signed up under you, makes a sale

And so, if you use these techniques you can begin a viral marketing campaign which will continue to generate traffic and sales with little on-going effort on your part.

EXCEPT for two issues we need to resolve

1) What happens if everyone rebrands the book and only makes purchases from their own copy ?

Well, I have found that in practice only a minority (say 10%) will take the time to rebrand a book which means that the majority (90%) will be reading your book and purchasing from YOUR links.

So only 10% will be 'lost' to you . . . or are they ?

2) Suppose you plan to produce a viral book. It's about a popular topic - so it's bound to have a wide circulation - but you can't find any of the three types of suitable links to put in the book, i.e. links to a product of your own, to products with resale rights or for 2-tier affiliate programs.

Is there a solution ?

Yes - there are answers to both problems in my book "101 SuperTips" - they are actually tips 100 and 101.

As you might expect this book is free, with valuable information linking to highly relevant products, and you can rebrand it, again for free.

By all the rules above it's a candidate, I hope you agree, for 'the perfect viral ebook' and a profitable source of revenue for you.

Online Book Marketing: How to Market Your Book Even If You Are Not a Salesperson

By Jeremy M. Hoover

What you do after you have written your book is as much, if not more, important than the actual writing of it. You can take a great book and poor marketing and have very poor results. Conversely, I believe you can take a mediocre book, market it well, and make very good sales from it. The only limiting factor is you. You probably think, "I'm a writer, not a salesperson." That's true, but there are some very simple things you can do to create a website that sells your book.

  1. Create a direct-response sales page for your book.

This doesn't need to be an extra site, your home page, or anything extravagant. Devote your home page to information about you or your most recent work and a subscription form for a newsletter for your fans. Create a secondary page, linked to from your home page, that sells your book. But instead of simply stating a few sentences about your book, either put up a full book review or a direct-response sales letter. Either way, at the end of the review or the letter, you must ask your readers to buy your book. Put a direct order link at the bottom of your page. Simply asking for your readers to buy your book will increase your sales.

  2. Create a "fan list" you can send messages to.

On your home page, and on every page of your website, create a newsletter subscription form for your readers to join. You don't need to send something out every day, or even every week. Once a month, send out a new "flash fiction" or microfiction story, or a new essay. Keep in touch with your readers. Send out a special notice of a discount for your subscribers. But in each communication with them, provide a link back to your sales page and ask them to buy. Don't worry they subscribed because they like your work and are open to buying it!

  3. Write some articles or short stories and give them away.

You can give these away from your website as a gift for joining your newsletter group, or you can give them away from other people's sites as a way to get more awareness of your work. Do a search for "article sites" and you'll find many sites you can submit your work to. These are great for two reasons-

    1) More people will be exposed to your writing (which means more potential buyers); and

    2) Others may take your article or story and run it in their newsletter, giving you even more exposure.

Writing and distributing articles or stories is a great way to build traffic to your site and confidence in your writing.

Follow these three steps and you'll notice an increase in sales of your books.

4 Big Reasons Your E-Books Should be PDFs

By Jennifer Tribe

Last week, someone asked me to recommend a good e-book compiler. It's a question I get a lot. And I told him what I tell everyone: forget e-book compilers. Instead, create your e-books and other print documents in PDF format.

Why choose PDF over a special e-book format?

Familiarity and Ease of Use

Nearly everyone with a computer has Adobe's free reader on their machine and knows how to use it. The same cannot be said for the proprietary e-book formats. E-book files create a learning curve for your customer as they try to familiarize themselves with document set-up, navigation and functionality that they may never have encountered before. That's work. Who wants to do extra work to use a product?

Trust Factor

E-book formats may require that customers install new files on their machine to read the book. Some e-book files are delivered as .exe files, which are notorious for their ability to carry nasty viruses. Your file may not be an .exe and it might be clean as a whistle, but customers may be reluctant to install the files anyway. The PDF format is well-known and trusted. No mysterious installations, no viruses.

Readable by Anyone

PDF is a universal format that can be read on any type of computer. Most e-book generators create files that can only be read on PCs, leaving your Mac and Linux customers out in the cold.

File Stability

PDF documents have a far smaller chance of containing technical glitches. An e-book I once downloaded wouldn't forward through the chapters properly. Sometimes I'd click on a chapter title and get a blank page, or only the first page. The problems only got worse over time. I've never had such problems with a PDF document and the files remain stable over time.

What About Security?

What about security and preventing file theft, you say? This is a common concern among e-book publishers and often the reason they go searching for an e-book generator in the first place.

To those people I say: piracy happens. No matter what format you create your e-book in, if someone is intent on stealing it, they will find a way to do so.

Publishers focused on tightly locking up their material often end up creating barriers between themselves and legitimate paying customers. For example, you might decide to lock the print function so that people can't print and photocopy your content. Then a paying customer who doesn't want to read the whole thing on screen tries to print it out and can't. They get frustrated. Frustrations don't lead to more sales or good customer relations.

I'm not saying you turn a blind eye to large-scale theft. To maintain your copyright, you do need to pursue people who are trying to pass off your content as theirs, reproduce
whole pieces of your work in their work without permission, sell your materials without permission, or give them away on a large scale (say, as a free public download from their web site). But if someone wants to share their e-book with their sister, it will happen anyway. In my opinion, trying to track down and stop these pass-alongs will cause you more time, money and grief than it's worth.

If you really want to use security functions such as password protection or locking the print function, they're available in PDF anyway. Just be aware of the compromises you might be making in your ability to truly serve your paying customers.

Write Benefits in Your Headlines to Deliver the Dream!

By George Dodge

When you create headlines, do you put benefits into your headlines to deliver the dream? Do you create headlines that draw your reader deeper into the rest of copy?

Let me ask you a simple question. "Why do people read any printed material beyond the headline?"

The answer, because there was something in the headline that attracted their attention, raised their interest and curiosity, or contained a perceived benefit for the reader. At that moment in time, the headline was an irresistible headline to your reader.

How to Write a Headline to be an Irresistible Headline.

If you are writing material to sell a product, what is it that your target audience is seeking? Of course, it's the benefits that your product offers them (your product does have benefits for your target audience, doesn't it?).

They are looking for a beneficial means of solving their problems. They want to know "what's in it for them." They seek solutions to problems and new options that save time, money, and effort. If your product can do all three, you'll have a winner if you can convincingly convey those benefits to your reader.

But, no matter how good the product is and how well it matches their wants and desires, if you don't create headlines that present the benefits to your readers, then you certainly will not have a headline that makes you rich.

The purpose of this headline writing technique is to present your solution as the solution to your target market's most base wants and desires.

However, in order to render the ideal solution when you create your headline, you must understand what your target market wants... their likes and dislikes... their disappointments and frustrations with other competing alternatives. What is it that bothers your target market most concerning your niche?

Once you understand the wants, desires, or dreams of your target market, you can "enter into the conversation inside your customer's mind" as the famous copywriter Robert Collier once taught. Copywriter Maria Veloso refers to this as Frame-of-Mind marketing.

Supplied with this important knowledge, it's not too difficult to determine what it would take to create a more beneficial solution. But, you don't want to be content with being a little better than the other options available. If possible, you want to be the ultimate alternative to your target market's problem. What would your target population really desire to have, to be, or to achieve, that the
