The Get Links Guide

By Bruce Swedal

Links are basically online votes for your website. As you get more votes, your website is viewed more favorably by search engines and you enjoy higher rankings.

Each of those links can have more or less importance. If you get linked to from a very popular site more of that strength is passed on to your site. Just like campaigning for office in the real world. Getting that backing from a auto union is much more valuable than getting your next door neighbors vote.

So how do you get these links? There are many different ways and several different search engine specialists that will give you their particular take on it. I say make it simple. Get the links you want by asking for them.

Sending out a couple hundred thousand emails asking for a link would not only be considered spam. It would also be ignored by the webmasters that received the email.

A more effective way of getting links to your website is through directories. Quality directories categorize and review websites for a small fee. Then after a successful review the directory will list your website with a link. This is perhaps the easiest and quickest way to get links to your website. These are the best places to request links.

A different way to get inbound links is by writing articles and submitting them to online sites that publish articles. If the article is good quality and gets accepted you can get a link back to your website within the resource box.

Something that you should remember when working on links is many bad links don't equal one quality link. Remember that links carry different weights as we previously discussed.

Link building is also a mostly hands-on process. It takes time and is never truly complete. As long as you have a quality website that you want to remain popular, you will need to be working on building links to your site.

Think of these tips a starting point for a first-rate link building campaign. There are some other methods, but the ones listed here are very effective and where most focus.

Blog Optimization 101

By Nick Stamoulis

Getting your blog out there and seen is the point, right? You want visitors to see your blog so that they can either click on the ads or click through and buy from your site, otherwise whats the point of the blog, right?

So how to get the blog out there. First is to make sure that blog directories and the blog search engines are picking it up. Also link or claim your blog at the social bookmarking sites. To give all fo this a jump start take a look at the following check up list. If your new to blogging and just setting up a blog these are good starting points. if your blog is not performing the ways it should be then the following tips are good for giving your blog a check up.

  • It is extremely important that RSS auto-discovery tags be placed in the header of every page within a website that has feeds available. By doing so you will provide users and search engines alike with a simple method of being notified that you have RSS feed(s) and it will allow immediate subscription without fuss. In contrast simply having a RSS logo hyperlinked with a feed provides little or no benefit and does not provide auto-notification that a feed is available.
  • Furthermore it is recommended to create a unique auto-discovery tag for each available RSS feed and place them all in the header. If you think you have too many then I would recommend choosing the feeds that are most relevant to the page content.

  • A WordPress plugin was noted called the "SEO Title Tag Plugin". This plugin really impressed me because it allows WordPress users to see and individually customize the title tags of every post within the associated blog; without a doubt a powerful capability since title tags play a significant role in rankings.
  • If you use paid Press Release services to disseminate your latest company news then it also works to your advantage to create a separate blog specifically used for your press releases. In this regard you can use the associated RSS feed to get some free publicity by submitting it to blog directories and other blog-syndicating properties.
  • If you are finding it difficult to get the word out about a particular piece of news then Greg Jarboe has a great idea for you: track down the key bloggers that appear to be driving the news in your industry and contact them with your story.

If your story interests even one of the bloggers and gets published then you could get a massive amount of publicity for zero dollars.

During the presentation of this concept Greg Jarboe utilized a powerful online tool called BuzzLogic to identify which people drove the latest news in key topics. Unfortunately BuzzLogic
appears to be priced well out of the capabilities of many small businesses (at $12,000/yr minimum) so I will provide a very basic free alternative to determining the leaders of a particular topic.

Step 1) Search in your favorite search engine for the particular topic. Within the results separate the blogs from the other content. If you do not find at least 10 bloggers then try search again with different wording for the same topic.

Step 2) Look at each blog individually and look for indications of readership or popularity. For example perhaps one of the website has a Feedburner subscription counter with the blog's current readership OR take the URL of the blog and conduct a backlink check on Yahoo using "linkdomain:www. .com" (without the quotes) to see which blogs have the most inbound links. Sort these blogs according to their popularity.

Step 3) Find contact information on each site and then contact the writer(s) starting with the most trafficked blogs and pitch your news/idea/story.

Note: I am not saying the steps above have anywhere near the quality of results that a full-fledge program like BuzzLogic has but it is certainly a great place to start.

  • Promote your latest blog posting by taking advantage of a popular blogger's vanity. Compliment them within your key article (somehow) using their full name and perhaps provide a link back to their website. Chances are that the blogger often keeps an eye on blog postings or sites that utilize their name. When they visit your posting there is a good chance they will read it.

General Blog and Feed Optimization Tips:

  1. Providing full text feeds was noted regularly throughout the presentation as a far superior method for creating backlinks and getting found online.
  2. Your blog feed should have 20 or more items never the minimum 10.
  3. Provide a feed for every category your site/blog offers.
  4. Ensure that you create keyword rich blog posts and ensure that your brand is well represented within the text.
  5. Ensure the most important keyword/phrase is listed in the blog title.

Optimize Your Blog's Linking Structure For Best Results

  1. Provide a listing of the top 10 posts within your site so the stories do not get buried in archives or category pages. If the articles are performing well it is just logical to keep them in plain view to get more mileage from them.
  2. Use Tag Clouds and Tag Pages to increase the possible routes to your valuable past content.
  3. If you are using WordPress as your blogging tool it is a great idea to install the "Sticky Posts" plugin which allows you to 'stick' an introduction or key post at the top of each category page.

Search Engine Optimization - Do You Really Need It?

By Nick Stamoulis

Search Engine optimization.SEO for short is the art of making both the reader and the search engines happy with your webpage. Now how do I do that? Well simply put you want to have a set of keywords or phrases that appear on a certain page a number of times.

No sweat right, well yes it can be. Those words have to appear in such a way that they are conversational and balance against the amount of code that is on your page. Keeping the code to the needed amount and not extraneous is no short task. But having your keywords balance it and appear to be natural in the text can be a challenge.

One easy way to do this is to keep each page focused on one or two keywords. Remember that search engines rank pages, not sites. Its always better to have one page rank number 1 than to have 25 pages rank 250th in the search engines...

Stay online for long and you're sure to get conflicting messages:

"Learn everything you can about search engine optimization," the experts will say, "because without your website will die."

"Don't worry about search engine optimization," others will tell you. "It's just a myth to get your money because the search engines will crawl your site anyway and you want to write your copy for your customers, not the search engines."

The problem with both of these messages is that they are both correct. Yes, I said that's a problem. Both statements are true.

Search engine optimization is the science of studying the search engines and how they rank web pages so that you can build a website that gets crawled quicker and ranked better for your important keywords. The issue with putting too much stock in it is when you think there is an automatic formula or panacea for all your lack of traffic or sales. Search engine optimization wasn't designed to cure all of your problems, but it can cure some of them.

The first thing you need to know for excellent search engine optimization is research. You MUST conduct the proper keyword research. That's a starting point. Then, you need to narrow down your niche. Do this before you build your website. In future posts on this blog we will show how and why this is important and give you all the details in performing the proper search engine optimization without wasting your time on useless activities. Stay tuned in. More to come.

Affiliate Tracking Options: Diy Or Affiliate Manager?

By Nick Stamoulis

When it comes to tracking your affiliates, should you use a manager or do it yourself? To be sure, there are pros and cons to both approaches. If you do it yourself and you have a lot of affiliates you could find yourself spending most of your time managing affiliates and not running your business. On the other hand, if you hire a manager to oversee your affiliate program for you then you could have some out of pocket expenses, which could get expensive if you don't have any affiliates or if you go a long time with only a few affiliates who are producing anything for you.

A good rule of thumb is only spend money when you can justify the expense. In other words, when you first start your affiliate program try doing it yourself for awhile then hire a manager when you have at least one affiliate who is producing enough sales for you to justify hiring a manager. A good affiliate manager will cost you 15%-20% of your total affiliate volume, but some managers charge a flat fee in addition to a percentage of the volume and that's where you could have some unnecessary expenses.

You may have heard of the 80/20 rule. It is a reasonable expectation that 20% of your affiliates will produce 80% of your sales volume. In other words, you will likely have to get 5 affiliates before you find one that really does much for you. Even then, he will likely only produce 80% of your total volume, so if your total average monthly sales volume from your 5 affiliates is $100 then probably $80 of that is coming from one affiliate. That's not a whole lot of business. That's probably where you want to be before you start shelling out $15-$30 per month on an affiliate manager. At any rate, whatever your monthly cost for an affiliate manager, you want at least that much coming in the door from your affiliate sales before you turn over management to a manager.

Internet Marketing - Always Be Testing

By Tellman H. Knudson

No Internet marketing veteran worth his or her salt is oblivious to the value of testing and tracking. But if you're new to the Internet marketing world, start off on the right foot. There are lots of great free services online that will help you.

But let's define some of the terms involved in tracking and testing before we go any further. Traffic should be your first concern, and there's a difference in the kinds of traffic you're going to receive. The term "visitors" applies to anyone who comes to your site, whether or not they've been there before. "Unique visitors" are not how many hits your page gets, but how many different sets of eyeballs are seeing it for the first time. The metric that determines whether people come and go or come and stay is the "bounce rate." This measures how many people see only the first page in comparison to the total number of visitors to your site, including those people who view more than one page. Your rate of "conversion" is the ratio of how many people took action by opting in to your list or buying your product or service in comparison with all the people who came to your site. Knowing what these terms mean will help you to decide the kind of testing you want to do and what results you'd like to achieve.

The first kind of test that you can run is the A/B split test. That means you're going to test one page against another, but only one element of the pages is going to be different. So, for example, you can have a red headline on one page and a blue headline on another. Or, you can offer a different free gifts for opting in on each page. The idea is to only change one element at a time.

Multivariate testing measures more than one element at a time, but it requires sophisticated software to do it properly. You can use Google's Website Optimizer, a free service inside any
AdWords account. What makes this kind of testing so great is that you can test things much more quickly, and in the Internet marketing business, it's all about speed.

When you use Optimizer, you choose a web page that you want to use as an "experiment." Then, you choose the elements of the page that you want to test. You can test headlines, chunks of copy, bullet points, opt-in box calls to action... whatever. And yes, it requires some work because all of the copy has to be rewritten at least once, but if you want a really strong test, it should be done more than once. Nothing in Internet marketing works overnight, no matter what you've been told.

Once you have that much set up at Google, you'll need to place some code on your web page, so be sure you can do that and have access to the page. Don't use an affiliate page, for example.
Optimizer will then rotate and test each element that people see when they come to your site, and it will test these elements in combinations, so that you can see which combination of elements works best together. It's a great way to track your progress, but everything you do in Internet marketing needs to be tested.

Whether you're placing a text link ad or sending an email, you should be using a tracking link of some kind to see your results. How will you know if your advertising buck has been well spent, if you don't track the effectiveness of your ad? Another free tool from Google can help with this--the URL Builder-- and it comes with any Google Analytics account. Use Analytics, too, which gives you detailed information on who's coming to your site, where they come from, and what they're looking at and clicking on, along with some other really cool and interesting stuff.

The whole thing is that if your Internet marketing business isn't working out so well, or if it's working but not at the level you want it to be working, testing and tracking can mean the difference between success and failure. Take advantage of the free tools that are available, and crank your business up to the next level.

Link Building - How To Get More Inbound Links For Your Website

By Trevor John

Link building is maybe one of the least glamorous yet most important things you can do for your website. Without links pointing to your site, it's unlikely that anyone will ever find you.

So how do you get inbound links?

Most of the time, by asking for them!

Who you ask and how you ask them will make all the difference. You can't just send out hundreds or thousands of emails asking for a link. Apart from these emails being classed as spam, the chances of an email out of the blue being acted on by another webmaster is close to zero.

One way to get inbound links is to search out the small directories that are lurking everywhere on the internet. They classify websites and give a comment or description of the site. Many of these directory sites will list you for free (or a small fee), although the largest of them, such as Yahoo, will charge quite a lot of money. But then if your site is good enough to be listed in Yahoo, that will be recognized by the search engine spiders and you'll likely get a boost in your page rankings.

Another way to get inbound links is by writing articles and submitting them to places like Ezine Articles. You'll get a link back to your website once your article is accepted and as other sites start using the articles you've submitted, you'll get links back from them. You don't need to have got a top grade in English at school. You just need to be able to talk clearly about your subject - much as if you were explaining it to a friend over a coffee.

You can also get links back to your site when you post in forums. Make your posts good quality and people will be happy to click the link in your signature if it's relevant to the forums topic.

The Best Way To Start Your Internet Home Business

By John Fortner

You have made your decision. You want to start a work from home venture. The idea of making money online is something you desire. An internet business could bring financial freedom to you and your family. You say to yourself "I'm ready but what do I do?"

The next step towards success is discovering the product that you want to sell for your new online income opportunity. Not only must you decide what to sell, you need to know if there are
enough customers to make your home based business profitable. This is where you lay the foundation for your work at home adventure. You will have to do homework which means you will need to do research.

Here is a checklist for your research:

1) Make a list of prospective products.
2) Search the internet for your potential items.
3) Invest in a keyword search tool.
4) Narrow your list to three possibilities.

A) Make A List Of Prospective Products

You are starting on the road that leads to the success of your internet home business but you do not see any direction signs. Sit down and make a list of the possible items that you would like to sell. These will guide you down the correct path. Let your imagination flow through your ideas. When you are gathering this information consider the things that you enjoy or that you buy. Think small items. Think big products. Think information.

Maybe you have an idea that has been simmering inside of you for creating your own product. Don't limit your thinking to tangible goods. Information is one of the biggest sellers on the internet. A how-to-guide or an E-book could be waiting to spring from your genius. Think outside the box!

B) Search The Internet For Your Potential Items

This is called supply and you need to know who your potential competitors might be. Competition is a good thing but an over saturated market will not bring you the success for making money at home. Make a list of these websites. Remember, you may be looking for internet stores that are selling tangible products as well as intangible items (depending on your list).

While you are doing this research, analyze these websites to gather information for future reference. How much are they selling the product for? Do they offer any incentives to buy? How is their website designed? What do you like about their internet store? What don't you like about their online business? Would you buy from this internet business? The thing to remember is that you may be looking at your competitors and you need to be familiar with them.

C) Invest In A Keyword Search Tool

This is called demand and you need to know how often people are searching for your potential product. Some good keyword search tools are:

a) Word tracker (Free Trial)
b) Good Keywords (Free)
c) Overture (Free)

When you are using these tools make sure that you search for "keywords" or "keyword terms" that you would use if you were looking for the same item. This is very important. You need to put yourself in the place of your potential online store customer. What "keywords" or "keyword terms" would you use to find your internet product?

It would be a good idea to take notes on the related search terms that these tools will offer you. They can be used for future reference in your marketing plan (how you will be advertising your products).

The results that you receive from these keyword search tools indicate how many people have looked for that word or term during a particular time period (usually a month). You want to find products that have a large number of people searching for them on a regular basis.

D) Narrow Your List To Three Possibilities

Armed with all of this information, you need to narrow your choices to three or less. Your selections will be based on items that have a low supply but a large demand. Use this concept as your focal point. This idea is NOT carved in stone but it will be a helpful guideline during your research.

If you are having a difficult time finding your internet home business products, you will need to create another potential list and retrace each step.

When you have made your choices, you are ready to venture to the next level of creating success for making money online. On this level, your research will answer these questions:

1) Where can you sell your internet products?
2) How will you sell your online items?
2) What is your marketing plan for your home based business?

Remember, you are laying the foundation for a work from home adventure with your initial steps. The journey has just begun but your success will develop with the degree of your effort.

"One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows slowly endures."

5 SEO Myths Debunked

By Gabriel Adams

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is extremely important for any internet company but also important for web sites from brick and mortar businesses. SEO is important to bring the right targeted audience to your website. There are many myths about SEO, some are true, some were valid a few years ago, and many have no basis.

Myth 1: Multiple Domains

One SEO tactic involves etting up multiple domain names to bring more traffic to your business. This can be helpful, but often is not. Not only would this be expensive (yearly fees for domain name and maintenance) but would be very time consuming to maintain all the websites.

Myth 2: Search Engine Submission

Resubmitting your information every few weeks is not necessary, but could even reduce your priority ranking. Once your website is in the database of the search engines, there is no need to update your information.

Myth 3: Meta Tags

Another myth is that meta tags increase visitors. These might have been true five - ten years ago years ago, but current search engines do not place priority with the inclusion or absence of meta tags on a website. One important thing to remember is that the search engines do use the meta description tags when displaying your site in the SERPS. So while the meta tags may not affect your rankings, well written meta tags can increase the number of searchers who visit your site.

Myth 4: SEO Is Too Costly

Other myths include the value of SEO. They feel SEO experts are a costly, unnecessary expense. Marketing efforts are very costly. Direct mail, banner ads, radio or TV ad time, print advertisement, e-mails lists and trade fairs can all be more expense than SEO. Some companies believe an in house SEO effort can be as effective as an SEO company. This is a myth too, and SEO is a function that should be outsourced to ensure the company is aware of the latest trends. Traffic on you your website can be increased drastically by a SEO professional.

Myth 5: SEO Doesn't Matter

The other major myth is that when people are looking for a specific company, they type in the website url. Since the exact name of the website is rarely known, many people (estimated at close to 90%) save time by using a search engine to quickly and easily locate a website. For example, even for major websites like http://msn.com/ or http://amazon.com/, people use a search engine to locate the website instead of going directly to the site. SEO is important so that your business may be found on the search engines.

How To Set Up A Simple Affiliate Program?

By Jaison Jacob

I recommended affiliate programs as a great way to increase web site revenue. This article explains how to set up a simple affiliate program. This article will cover just that.

The webmasters who contacted me, operate sites that generate anywhere from zero to thousands of dollars in weekly sales. For this reason I've decided to present affiliate program solutions for both ends of the spectrum.

What is an affiliate program?

Simple. They all provide workathome income opportunities. The idea behind an affiliate, or associate program is to recruit other webmasters to help you sell your wares by paying them for each visitor or sale they bring you.

Before you decide NOT to offer an affiliate program at your website, read the following...

"By 2002, 25 percent of the expected $37.5 billion in Internet retail sales, not including autos, will have originated on affiliate sites" -- Nicole Vanderbilt, Jupiter Communications

Now you are up to speed. If you're considering starting an affiliate program at your site, read on....

An affiliate program is really not as difficult to set up as you may think. Thanks to the high demand for affiliate systems recently, there are now lots of ways to set up your own program.

Here's what you need to set one up...

  1. A web site with your own domain name.
  2. At least one product or service that you own completely.
  3. A system to handle commission tracking and payment.

Sounds easy enough, right? Well, actually it is! And it's getting easier all the time.

The first two items listed above are pretty much self-explanatory. Naturally, you need your own website and your own product or service. You can't very well set up an associate program if you don't own the site or the product(s) you will be promoting. If you have not taken these two steps, you'll need to do this first. Once you've managed to get by these two steps, you can move right to step three, setting up your program.

The next few paragraphs will explain exactly how I set up my program. If your business is tiny with a limited budget, this plan may work well for you. If you have a little more capital to work with, you may decide to use one of the many associate management systems available today. I'll cover those a little later. First, I'd like to give you the details on how I designed my own associate program.

Step one: Defining my objectives.

I decided that the key to an effective associate program would be to allow my associates to promote a URL, or web page and let the program process sales and track orders automatically.

I saw many "home-made" tracking systems failing at this. These other systems required customers to enter a number that identified the associate. In my opinion, this does not work. Customers are not interested in remembering a code so that an associate gets credit for the sale. Many customers have no idea there is as associate involved at all. When they see this they are.

Once considered a novelty, Podcasting is now a commonplace method used to broadcast audio and video files across the internet. Every day, the podcast audience grows. To successfully join the quickly growing group of Podcasters there are three elements you must understand.

The primary concern when creating podcasts is speed versus quality. Yes podcasting can be a race; you want to be the first to get your message out. While speed of production is important, the quality of the podcast is equally important. Therefore, it is essential that you do not sacrifice the quality your message for speed. The podcast audience is very discerning; they demand that messages be informative as well as interesting. If your podcast fails to meet their criteria, then your message has failed.

The next thing to consider is whether or not to obtain the services of a professional. While this can initially be a costly venture, in the end it is worth every dime. A professional consultation can provide you with the assistance you need to create the best possible podcast. This can be the deciding factor in the success of your podcasting endeavors.

Finally, for long term success in podcasting you must constantly be on the alert to changes and trends both on the internet and in the real world. This vigilance will allow you to continue to create podcasts that are current, informative and entertaining. This combination of entertainment relevant information and timeliness will keep your readers coming back and inviting others to become members of your podcast audience.

Apply these essential elements to your podcasting endeavors and you are on your way to success, popularity as well as increased profits. Information and entertainment draws your customers in while timeliness and quality of product will keep them coming back

By Moe Tamani

SEO or search engine optimization is an integral part of Internet promotions today. Businesses have started to look more and more at the local market like businesses in Dallas are looking at focusing on Dallas SEO.

With competition and cutting edge technology, it is important for businesses to promote themselves and create a high visibility in their local area. This recent development can also been seen in Dallas as a research indicates that 95% of traffic are directed by the top 10 search engines. Hence Dallas SEO as a keyword and strategy is necessary.

It doesn't really matter whether your business is targeting a global audience or local audience. Even if you are promoting your services or product to a worldwide audience, you can still reach out to Dallas customers. At the end of the day, this will help in achieving two objectives:

  1. A good brand positioning in the local and International market

  2. Local market capture

According to search engine experts, 70% consumers in the last couple of months have searched the Internet for local service providers or businesses selling products. So it is important to make sure that your business gets the required amount of visibility through Dallas SEO, but the question is how?

Some of the top search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo display local businesses on the main results page as well as in the local results page. But then there are local search engines, which are basically Internet Yellow Pages (IYP's), review sites and business data aggregators.

Some of the best Dallas search engines include dalseek.com, hitsphere.com, metroplexdirectory.com, dallasweb.com etc. These are IYP's as well as highly effective Dallas search engines that can take care of your Internet advertising needs. These local search engine directories can help businesses to advertise on the Internet for a monthly fee, quarterly or annual fee.

Let's take an example. dallasweb.com has different types of local listings like superpages.com, where you can list your Dallas SEO advertisement for free. In the Business/Yellow page listings, you can add your email address and url for free while some other yellow pages will list Dallas SEO advertisement for a cost that can be anywhere between $110 to $300 depending on how much space you are looking to advertise in, the placement of the advertisement and the Dallas SEO content.

Most people search the yellow pages while searching for products or services available locally. So if you provide Dallas SEO information regarding your business, service or products, then the chances of getting the right traffic to your website will increase multifold.

Most of the users who are looking for local information will visit a local search engines first (IYP's) and then a global search engine like Google or Yahoo. It is more of a habit than anything else and this habit can do wonders for your business while a Dallas SEO company can do justice to your advertisement, or business profile.

But we are not just talking about SEO advertisements; we are also talking about SEO website. So before you put your website on the Internet, you need to choose a Dallas SEO company to work on your website contain and make it optimized for local and global search engines.

If you use keywords like Dallas products, Dallas services, Dallas business, then there is a high probability that your business will feature among the top ten on the global search engines and anyone looking for a product or service in Dallas will get to see your website. Some users search for local information with subject matter keyword coupled with the locality.

A user looking for car spares in Dallas will search the internet or local pages using Dallas car spares, car spares in Dallas, Dallas car repair etc. Some users who are already aware of your area code may search as: Car spares, Dallas 75212. The local search engines will pull out all the car spare companies in the 75212 zip code including your company.

This is a type of Dallas SEO information that will enhance the search option and help a user to find your website or business information with ease. So, you will need to specify locality parameters within the website content. You can even have your full address displayed on your website to enhance search engine optimization and drive traffic.

Domain Name Promotion And Web Site Design/SEO

By Jay Johnson

If you do not have one million dollars in your pocket, you might find reading what I have to say worth a moment of your time.

I've bought my Domain Name. Now What?

First a transfer of Domain into your free account takes place on sellers end at no cost, money, time or frustration to you.

After a successful transfer (usually 12 to 24 hours) it will be up to the new owner of Domain to set the DNS (Domain Name Servers). This process usually takes less than five minutes and if purchased from 11J.com I'll be happy to help buyer with DNS or anything else for a smooth installing of a new Domain Name.

The obviously next step after purchasing a Domain Name is to build a web site for your new Domain. Easier said than done? Maybe so, but I'm about to give to you a little of my experience
to iron out any bumps on this road ahead of you to web design/development. In fact, if you will take the time to carefully review the steps below you will find earnings far greater than a miserly one million dollars and this I personally Guarantee!

The Art of Web Design

There are two rules that you absolutely must strictly adhere to for success with your new web site:

1. You must have an idea for your new web site from the ground up. This means from the beginning while sitting directly in front of a blank Notepad screen, to the successful completion.

2. You must enjoy the topic of your new web site to the point of money having absolutely no bearing on the intensity of your passion for that topic.

So you don't have the foggiest idea for your new web site? Not a problem in the least, please allow me to share a piece of my experience to guide you to conquering rule #1.

Being brand new to the Internet I did not have a clue what the difference was between HTML and a web site was. Source Code? Are you kidding me?? And yet, from scratch I built not one, but three huge multi-page web sites that I am positive could have sold from anywhere between $500 and $3000! Total cost: $100 per site. Of course, not having the foggiest idea what SEO meant all three web sites flopped. Domains expired and those web sites floated off into cyberspace.

I'll get to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) in just a moment, but first for those that don't have an idea to pursue for web site design please allow me to share the two simple steps to a potential $3000 web site for your chosen topic/passion. And at a cost of no more than $100 for your new web site.

1. Go to http://www.scriptlance.com/.

2. Scroll through all projects listed. (I have no affiliation with scriptlance, merely sharing my experience to help others succeed).

To steal another's idea is not only ridiculous but also will put one on a path to collapse. But what can be done for those with no idea for a profitable web site is to closely glance through all projects requesting assistance to find a web site to mold around whatever ideas might come to mind. After the merging of your idea into a potential web site possibly found on scriptlance or anywhere else, a Free account must be opened to place your idea in the hands of a designer/developer.

Are you still with me? If so, it is important to realize that most designers on Scriptlance are from overseas living in third world countries. The importance of keeping this in mind is due to the fact that the US dollar has a completely different value in other countries. How much does the common laborer in China make? $0.70 per day? I've worked with the Russians, the Romainians and Indians and call tell you those I've worked with speak better English than me! Communication is not an issue and the value of money takes on a whole new meaning.

(Should I condense this into a cheap free e-book? Maybe so. But hold on, the best part is yet to come!)

If you are interested in success with your new web site, please believe me when I say utilizing Scriptlance will be a mind blowing, mind boggling, and an absolutely wonderful pleasant and enlightening experience!

Before I go any further, there is one web site/school that is an absolute must for web site design/ownership. Memorizing tons and tons of code is just plain stupid! In fact IMOH I really don't believe all those HTML codes even can be memorized! But in order to explain to web designers (those that fix your site when down) problems you may be having, a basic understanding of HTML code truly is necessary. For this education in HTML, please head
over to http://www.w3cschools.org/. A Free internet school to help you understand the basics of HTML code which will prove to be invaluable if you are to own/run a new web site.

Okay, so now I have my Domain Name, and my web site. Can you promise me at least one hundred thousand visitors to my web site daily? I'm glad you asked. Because the answer to that question is a big fat NO. Why? Because I'm about to give to you directions to bringing far more than merely a hundred thousand daily. For those that have taken the time to read though my words of wisdom I'm about to give absolutely free of charge 100+ steps to an unlimited amount of visitors (REPEAT VISITORS) with the potential for an unlimited amount of earned income!

I would find it difficult to believe that anyone can start at step one and move beyond step ten. But the good thing about this list is the ability to pick and choose those steps your feel up to implementing.

I talk too much don't I? Suppose so, so here ya go:

1. Submit articles to article directories.

Internet Marketing Services That Deliver Site Traffic

By Moe Tamani

Internet marketing in itself is a wide domain supported by multiple theories and tactics but not all of them are effective enough to drive sales. The core idea behind any Internet marketing strategy is to create a web presence by using various Internet marketing services to drive revenue and achieve maximum ROI. The question is what are the key components of Internet marketing services and how can they drive ROI?

To understand it better, we need to first identify what a successful online strategy must be like. A fundamentally strong online strategy should be able to achieve the following:

  1. It should be able to drive targeted traffic to your website and persuade visitors to take a decision. This basically means that if a person is visiting your site for a particular product then the availability of the product on your website and the customer experience should end with a sale. You can use web metrics to analyze as well as measure the behavior of the user.
  2. It is not an easy task to drive targeted traffic to your website especially in the age of rising competition. You need to use certain elements of Internet marketing services to drive targeted traffic. Some of the elements include search engine marketing (SEM) campaign. An SEM strategy further includes pay-per-click or PPC advertising and search engine optimization or SEO strategy.
  3. Application of the SEO strategy is quite common but the distinguishing factor lies in the type of keyword you choose. It's important to identify the right keywords that can be used as a part of your PPC and SEO campaigns.
  4. Your internet marketing strategy should also include the use of tools like Wordtrackers, which can generate a random list of all possible keywords and phrases perfect for your business. Using a tool like this, you will be able to determine the frequency of search for each of the phrases. Based on the result, you can evaluate the options and identify the strength of competition. You can select the phrases and keywords and test them by using them for search engine optimization and PPC campaigns.

One of the key objectives of using Internet marketing services is to be able to effectively persuade a website visitor to take a desired action. You can buy a list of newsletter subscribers or offer a free download of a software demo package on your website. These are just minor elements that will draw a visitor to your website and help your to achieve the desired result.

Some of the other attributes that play an important role in making the marketing strategies effective include the total design and website architecture. Website architecture will include elements like navigation, design, content & copy and usability. All these elements need to be in sync to help drive traffic to your website.

Let us take a closer look at some of the Internet marketing services tools that are an integral part of any website or online business promotion:

PPC or Pay per click: PPC campaigns have become extremely popular platform of driving traffic. In PPC, you won't have to pay for advertising space or the advertisement itself but you will be charged every time a visitor clicks on your advertisement. It is also known as the cost per click (CPC) mode of advertising.

Search Engine Marketing: Also known as SEM, it is an online advertising strategy through which your online business can be optimized. This is an integral part of the Search Engine Marketing Services and this strategy will use your business/product/service oriented keywords to create a potential link with various other businesses. This will enhance your website relevancy and get your website listed among the top 20 or 30 search engine result page (SERP). A good SERP will increase the number of visitors to your page and will also help in converting them to customers.

Banner Advertising: A couple of years back, this was one of the top Internet marketing services but since the advent of SEM, it is not as critical but still is considered as a key factor. In banner advertising, you have to pay for the banner space. You can also display your banner in another website through banner exchange.

Email Marketing: Email marketing includes mostly newsletters, mailers etc, which can be sent to a group of subscribers or customers and is used to inform them about the launch of a new service or product.

Five Fantastic Ways To Automate Content Update

By N. Robbins

We all know that content is king on the internet. The maxim has been cited so many times that it has already become a cliché. Well, it has become a cliché because it's true. The internet IS the information superhighway. The processes in the World Wide Web are fueled by information. Users search for it. Web publishers provide it. And when you could give the information that people want, then you're in business. Whether your online endeavor is based on Pay Per Click (PPC) programs or the sale of digital products, quality content will drive people to your pages.

Indeed, content is your best investment for your online enterprise. But preparing unique, premium content is often not enough. You must strive to regularly update your content so that the search engine spiders would constantly crawl through your pages and fetch them for every relevant query. This is the key to good search engine placement. It is very effective, but it is also very demanding.

Writing good content is taxing enough. Having to write the same on a regular basis could be difficult. Having to write the same on a regular basis for several websites could be hellish. Surely, there must be an alternative or two which could spare you from having to write your own content to update your website and win the favor of the search engine spiders, right?

Well, here are five fantastic alternatives that not a lot of people are employing. Knowing them alone could give you the edge over your competitors in the race for good search engine positioning.

  1. Try RSS. RSS, which stands for Real Simple Syndication, is a technology that was first used by news wire services online. RSS allows users to display specific files every time they are uploaded on a source website. If website A, for example, generates RSS feeds to announce new articles uploaded to its server, and websites B, C, D and E are subscribed to website A's RSS feeds, they could display the said feeds on their desktop via an RSS aggregator. For online marketing purposes, these RSS feeds can also be displayed on your web pages. All you need is to download some programs that would enable you to do this. Make sure that you get an RSS-to-HTML reader, so that the RSS feeds you will display on your pages can be readable for the search engine spiders. Afterwards, all you have to do is to subscribe to an appropriate RSS feed, and every time the source website would post new content, you'll be able to display the same on your own website.
  2. Create your own forum. Online users normally gravitate towards forums that are dedicated to their own passions. If your website has an attached forum, you'd be able to invite your visitors to sign up with the same. They'll be left to their own devices. They'll create threads about matters they are interested with. They will pots messages to their hearts' liking. And you will have a virtual well of constantly updating content, without having to type a single word!
  3. Integrate a feedback manager. If you're posting articles as content, then you might want to include a feedback system for the same. This would enable your readers to leave their comments below the said article. Basically, your article would serve as the catalyst for content that will continuously be added by interested readers who want to share their piece of mind on what you have posted.
  4. Run a contest. Offering a prize for the visitor who submits the most engaging article relevant to the subject of your website, for example, would encourage a lot of people to submit entries that you could use as your own content. Just remember that your contest rules should include a term which states that submitted entries can be published on your website as a condition to their inclusion in the contest proper.
  5. Run a mini-article directory. Try to visit http://www.ezinearticles.com or http://www.goarticles.com . See how these websites ensure for themselves an abundant supply of great content? Simply follow their model, and implement the same on your website, even if it would be on a downgraded level. You'd be able to guarantee for yourself a good flow of new content!

NOTE: You have full permission to reprint this article within your website or newsletter as long as you leave the article fully intact and include the "About The Author" resource box. Thanks! :-

Five Quick Tips For Getting Your Blog On The First Page Of Google

By Kevin Sinclair

It is so easy to make money with a blog. Whether the purpose of your blog is to get traffic to your sales page or to sell affiliate products or to get Adsense clicks, getting your blog onto the first page of Google can be done quickly and easily.

Using the following quick tips you could get listed on the first page of Google for some keywords within a month or two, depending on how competitive your niche is. A video game site that followed these tips got on the first page of Google, in the fifth spot, for a popular search term when the site was less than one month old.

Here are the five quick tips for getting to the first page of Google:

  1. Put some original content on your blog. Post at least once a day but not more than every two to three hours. It doesn't look good if you are posting every few minutes. Continue adding new content regularly. Some of the content can be duplicate content (from an article directory or private label rights articles) but the more original content the better.
  2. When you have at least five posts with original content then submit your blog to Google's sitemap. It's not hard, and it only takes a few minutes. As long as you have a blog that looks authentic and is not filled with scraped content, this is a good start to getting noticed by Google.
  3. Write some original articles and submit them to article directories such as EzineArticles, GoArticles, ArticleAlley, and SearchWarp. Do not submit more than one a day since it is better to not inundate the article directories or they might think you are spamming them. It is very important to have a good resource box with links back to your site.
  4. Submit your RSS feed to at least fifty sites. This can be done in less than a couple of minutes using RSS Submit (RSSFeedsSubmit), a great piece of software that automatically submits your feed to more than fifty sites. The price is very reasonable (less than $50) but if you don't want to spend any money and would rather do it by hand, Robin Good sells a list of 55 RSS submission sites for a very small fee.
  5. Get your URL link listed in as many places as possible. Submit your site to directories like DMOZ. Answer questions at answers.yahoo and include your URL with your signature.
Leave comments on blogs that are in a related niche to yours, again including your URL in the signature. Do a search with the phrase "keyword add url" and add your URL at sites that allow you to do it for free. "Keyword" would be replaced by one of your keywords for your niche. Submit your blog to Technorati. Submit your original posts to social bookmarking sites like Digg, Netscape, Redit, Plugim, and so on. Be sure to tell friends to vote for your submissions at the social bookmarking sites.

These five quick tips will give your blog a powerful boost and get your blog on the first page of Google in a very short time. Within days you should be getting traffic from Google as you rise in the search engines. And you did it with spending little or no money.

Simple Steps To Search Engine Success

By Andy Michaels

Let's talk about a method for getting your website recognized and boosted to the top of the search engines.

This method is sometimes referred to as an "online science", but it's an easy way to get more site traffic once you know what to do.

I will be discussing search engine optimization in a series of articles, beginning with some tips today that will amaze you.

First, as you are aware, the Internet is a vast resource for all types of information. If you want to know about something, all you have to do is search for it. And searching of course is very easy. Just type in what you're looking for, and a list that may seem never-ending comes up with every place on the World Wide Web that has information pertaining to that subject.

How can you use this little piece of knowledge and expand upon it to lead people to your website and to the information, products and services that you want to share with the world?

I can show you a way that is absolutely free! By using this information that I am sharing with you, your website hits will increase exponentially, and your online business will not only grow, but grow by leaps and bounds!

With this simple to use information, you can expand your earnings by drawing more and more visitors to your site. All for free!

Keywords are the key to this method. And what are keywords? They are the kinds of words people use in searches that relate directly to a website. Let me explain: If you are interested in learning how to ceramic tile your kitchen counter tops, you will probably type in a search something like "how to tile kitchen counter tops" or "kitchen ceramic tiles". In doing so, you
prompt search engines to go looking for sites that have a lot of the words ceramic, tile, kitchen and so forth in them. And soon you have a listing of sites that will show you how to proceed with tiling your counters.

So, right there is the secret. Keywords will lead people to your website. All you need to do is optimize your site for keywords! A good place to start is by going to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/.

In the keyword search field, type in your product or service. For example, if you make and sell custom Christmas tree decorations, you will type in Christmas tree decorations. A long list of keywords will appear. All you have to do is make a list of them to use in optimizing your website, which is the subject of my next article.

Remember, this information is free for the taking, and I am here to help you make the best use of it. It's not rocket science, in fact, it's quite simple, and once you see for yourself how well it works, you'll find it quite enjoyable!

Common Errors that Kill Search Engine Ranking

By Sharon Housley

Tricking the search engines just does not work. The search engines do not look kindly upon webmasters who attempt to deceive the search engines about the content contained on a webpage.

1. Cloaking

Cloaking a website is a stealth technique used to provide a copy of a web page to search engines while providing an alternate copy to website visitors. The website copy provided to the search engine is optimized and not always reflective of the real content contained on the webpage.

2. Hidden Text

Another deceptive tip that will result in a search engine ban, is done by incorporating text into a website that is not visible to the naked eye, but is visible to search engine spider. There are two ways that underhanded webmasters might attem
