Five Reasons You Need to Start a Home Business!

By Leslie Truex

It used to be that going to work for forty years would provide you with enough income to support your family today and a nice pension to support you in your retirement. Those
days are gone. Financial gurus today are stressing the importance not relying on a job for your financial security. They are recommending that the best way to secure your family's finances now and in the future is through a part-time home based business.

Here are five reasons you NEED to start a home business:

1) Jobs are not secure or keeping up with the cost of living. More and more people are being laid off as work is outsourced to other countries or struggling industries are forced to cut back. Further, while the economy shows signs of growth, the money has not reached the hands of middle and low-income families. In fact, salaries have not kept pace with the cost of living making families poorer! Perhaps you have been wondering why you used to live okay on your salary and now you don't. Odds are you haven't had a raise in years and if you have, it wasn't enough to cover the increase in living expenses. Having a home-based business cannot only help fill this gap, but it can fund your retirement and even replace your income.

2) Job related pensions and retirements are not secure and may not be enough to support you. Everyone is aware ofEnron and big losses investors have taken due to dot-com troubles. But many companies are also cutting back or eliminating their pension plans. Many don't offer any sort of pension plan at all. With Social Security in financial trouble, you can't expect to have the government or your boss secure your retirement. It's up to you. A part-time home business can help you earn extra money that you can invest in your future.

3) Tax benefits. Many of the tax advantages that benefit the rich are available to you when you have a home business. Please note, I'm not a tax expert so you should always consult a tax professional on your taxes. However, as a home business owner you have many tax deductions
available to you on many things you are already paying for such as expenses to run your home and Internet access fees. While the government takes its 30% off the top of your salary, it allows businesses to first deduct their expensesfor doing business, and then pay taxes on what's left over, which generally results in lower tax payments.

4) Money savings. If you are able to bring your business home full-time, you can save huge on the costs related to working such as commuting, childcare, etc. In fact, I make less now than I did when I worked outside the home, but I have more money! That's because nearly 3/4th of my income went to pay for work-related things.

5) Improved well being. Stress, lack of sleep, no time for oneself much less a family are all the result of jobs that ask you to work more and more for less and less. The health implications for this kind of life are staggering with increased depression, heart disease, and more. Adding a
side income from a home business can take the burden off of fears of losing a job because if you get laid off, you have some savings to fall back on. But if you can replace your job with your business, you can set your hours, take time for yourself, spend more time with the family, and be able to take better care of you.

According to financial experts such as Loral Langemeir (The Millionaire Maker), David Bach (Finish Rich books), Robert Allen (Multiple Streams of Income,) Donald Trump and Robert
Kyioski, financial security comes from being in control of your income and developing passive income streams. All of these authors indicate that it starts by being your own boss.

The Secrets Behind The Best Affiliate Programs: Doing It The Right Way

By Mario Churchill

Aren't you curious about what makes some affiliate programs work and what makes other affiliate programs doom to failure? More importantly, don't you want to know what the people behind the best affiliate programs have in common and how and why they're enjoying so much success?

Critical Success Factors of the People behind the Best Affiliate Programs

EXCELLENT PRODUCT OR SERVICE - The success behind the best affiliate programs is not primarily due to marketing expertise alone. Beyond that, the success that these programs achieved was mainly due to the type of product or service being endorsed by its affiliates. If you don't have an excellent product or service to begin with, you can only achieve marginal and short term success from your affiliate program.

It's important that you concentrate first on finding the right product or service to sell before worrying about affiliate programs.

FORTITUDE - If you want the street slang counterpart for it, fortitude is also known as "staying power". The people behind the best affiliate programs, believe it or not, went through
the same things that you're experiencing right now, obviously not to the same degree but your experiences are fundamentally the same.

What separates these people from others is their fortitude. They understood that it takes a considerable amount of time for any affiliate program to achieve success. As long as they were
reasonably certain about the soundness and effectiveness of their plans and strategies, these people were willing to wait and bide their time, even if it seemed that there was no tomorrow and absolutely nothing was happening to their affiliate programs.

But something did happen, and all their waiting paid off. It can happen to you too, if you're waiting with the right affiliate marketing strategy.

THE POWER OF ADWORD OR ADSENSE - Pay per click ads or any of its improved versions is the best way to advertise about your products and services. It is also integral to the success of
your affiliate program. Indeed, if you make a study of the best affiliate programs presently in the Internet, you'll see how most - if not - all of them have made use of this type of advertising.

Of course, making use of adwords or Ad Sense is not enough to guarantee total success for your affiliate program. You also need to understand the types of powers it does have and to what
extent it can be used before you can effectively incorporate it to your affiliate program.

IT'S ALL ABOUT SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION - The people behind the best affiliate programs in the Internet don't allow themselves to depend completely on other people when it comes to the SEO aspect of their programs. If you want to experience success, you need to understand exactly what's required from you and what you can do about it.

Choosing to delegate the unpleasant and troublesome aspects of the job is not the way to go about it. If you don't take time to understand the principles behind SEO and its various
techniques and choose to let someone take care of it, how will you know if what's being done for your affiliate program is right?

SEO is what drives traffic to your website, so isn't that enough reason and motivation for you to sit down and finally tackle the concept of search engine optimization?

ALWAYS GET SECOND PEOPLE OPINION - Although the people behind the best affiliate programs are in some way or another confident about their decisions and choices, this doesn't mean that they are convinced they know all there is to know about the Internet and about the products or services being advertised.

Adopting such an attitude is in fact career suicide. If you wish for your affiliate program to work, you need to acquire a second or even a third opinion about what you're doing. Naturally choose someone you trust, capable of dishing out the truth no matter how unpleasant and whose expertise is a given. Don't feel bad if you hear something critical, because you need to learn about these deficiencies in order for your affiliate program to approve.

WHERE TO FIND CUSTOMER LOYALTY - Old clients are easier and harder to please than new ones depending on the situation. Gather the contact details of die-hard customers by building an email opt in list. With such a list, you're guaranteed an ear that's ready and willing to listen to what you have to offer!

Incorpate all the factors discussed in your strategy and you're sure to end up with a winning affiliate program as well!

Increase Your Google Adsense Earnings The Visitor Friendly Way

By Barry Fenning

Google Adsense has provided website owners a simple way to make money online. Just copy and paste a simple piece of code into your website and you can be making money within 5 minutes. No wages for salespersons, no dealing with advertisers, no hassles. However, there is a big difference between making a couple of cents per day and retiring on your own private yacht
in the Caribbean . There is more to do than simply plugging your advertisements into any section of your website, sitting back, and hoping the cheques will start pouring through the
door.

If you are looking for a way to increase your earnings with Google Adsense with your Blog or Website then the following tips should help:

1. Blend you Adsense Advertisements with the rest of your page.

This is a very simple but not always used tip. Countless studies have shown that users are more likely to click on your Adsense advertisements if they have the same link and font colours as the rest of your page. Google makes sure that the advertisement relevancy matches the content of your web page so by blending the Adsense advertisements it will provide a consistent look to your page with relevant content as well.

2. Putting Adsense Above or Below the fold?

The "fold" is simply known as the bottom of the page. If you have to scroll down to see more information on a page, this section is known as "below the fold". Test your Adsense placement by analyzing the CTR (click through rate) that you get for advertisements that are above the fold, take them out and then put them below the fold, you'll get a better picture to see which has greater success. There is no hard-and-fast rule to what suits better but remember that success has a lot to do with location, location, location. So get testing.

3. Take the clutter out of your Website.

Like a good spring cleaning exercise look at your webpages and analyze what your visitors find useful and what gets very little clicks. This is not only good practice towards creating a more user-friendly website but it also allows you to test Adsense ads in different areas of your pages and see identify improvements on advertisement CTRs.

4. Help the Adsense robot.

A picture says a thousand words but to a robot/spider that is crawling your pages a picture says very little about what the content is about. If your site contains a lot of pictures then do yourself, your visitor, and the Adsense bot a favour and add some text to let everyone know what the image is about. This way the Adsense advertisements will be more targeted to what your site/page is all about and the user won't see unrelated advertisements within your website.

5. Increase your website traffic.

Seems like another obvious one, but so many good websites exist that aren't reaching their potential target market. By optimising your website to gain better search engine rankings,
participating in forums that are related to your website, submitting your website to industry related directories, and getting the word out there in any way that you can think of will help drive targeted visitors to your website. Remember that the internet is an amazingly powerful medium to facilitate word-of-mouth. The effort you put into promoting your site will be rewarded by satisfied visitors/customers spreading the word about your website throughout the World Wide Web. However, make sure that you have a quality website/product/service or the opposite can happen just as quick.

In conclusion by incorporating the above tips you should improve your Adsense earnings. I'm not telling you that by using the above that you'll be retiring on your yacht with your Pina Colada in hand. So don't quit your day-job. If you follow the advice above it will get you on your way to improving your CTRs, your website design, and the experience for your user. Probably the most important thing that these tips help you with is to encourage you to test and experiment with Adsense and not just assume that whatever the style you use and wherever you put it is the right place.

Seven Webcopy Essentials To Boost Sales In 2007

By Rick Sloboda

Relevant webcopy is the key to engaging your website's visitors and converting more sales in 2007.

Forrester Research forecasts that US consumers alone will spend upwards of $228 billion (U.S.) online in 2007. Meanwhile, Internet World Stats reports almost 70 per cent of US and Canadian consumers are using the Internet.

So what's the quickest and most effective way to connect with your audience and convert them into full-fledged customers? Address their real needs, and make it easy for them to find what
they want.

Be sure to employ the following webcopy tactics to establish trust and credibility with your visitors:

1. Promote benefits - Focus on your customers and emphasize benefits rather than features. Tell visitors how your product or service is going save them time or money, keep them safer, make them happier, healthier, more attractive and so on.

2. Be objective - Don't make subjective claims without evidence. Vague marketing hype like "We're the best in the business!!!" will only kill your credibility. When you make a point, back it
up with facts and figures.

3. Strong introduction - Take a page from journalists; make your introductory sentences strong and meaningful. Don't bury important information in the middle or at the end of your pages.

4. Scan-friendly - Studies indicate Internet users generally scan webcopy, so keep it lean and clean. Use relevant headlines, subheads, bullet points and short, one-topic paragraphs. As a
general rule, webcopy should be less than half the length of copy you would use in traditional print media, such as brochures.

5. Organized structure - Ensure information is intuitively accessible. And remember that your visitors may arrive on pages other than the homepage, so every page must be written with an
introduction and links to the rest of the site.

6. Keep it fresh - Frequently updated webcopy will score points with returning visitors. Give them a reason to keep coming back.

7. Use 'calls to action' - Requests such as 'call us today' and 'e-mail us now' should be strategically placed throughout your webcopy. Sales experts suggest you need to include several calls to action within your webcopy to trigger a sale. There should be at least one call to action on every page.

Whatever marketing trends and technologies emerge, relevant and informative webcopy will remain a key ingredient to convincing your online visitors to purchase your product or service.

Blog Traffic Tips - Get More Blog Traffic

By Jeff Phelps

Blog traffic is crucial if you are in the business of making money with your blog. If your blog traffic is low, chances are so is your revenue. So how do you increase your blog traffic? Easy if you follow these basic steps:

Post On Niche Related Forums

Please don't spam. Search for the forums that can be added to the niche that you wish to promote. Carefully study the entire discussed topic and relate it to the questions asked during the discussion. The discussion can also answer personal questions. Make sure that in every discussion made, you put a small resource box at the end of it to serve as a link to your blog
(not always your homepage). Many forums will have you tossed if all you do is promote affiliate products, so don't do it! It is necessary to put your bio in every end of your postings with a
relevant keyword link back to your blog. Do not pursue with some of the forums that do not allow the posting of a resource box.

Write Your Own Content

You can pass an article or web content in many websites. Usually, these sites are free and if you are cash tight, you can pass your own made web contents initially. Writing your own web content will save you a ton of cash, but will also cost you a lot of time. There are freelance writers that will do the work for you, but there is something to be said about having your own personally written content. Therefore, it is wise to do your own article. The article that you will be writing must match the niche of your blog. Put knowledge that you know into every writings, you can discuss tips, tricks, guidelines that you get from your own life experiences. This will encourage your blog traffic to frequently visit your site.

Get Involved In Link Exchanges

This is the most effective way to bring traffic in your blog. This is a careful study of all the links shown on the search engines. It is important to secure the sites that are linked to you to have topics same to your blog. Blog traffic is generated if the same subject is seen on the recommendation by the site that you share your subject with. There will be an increased
chance of reaching the highest rank with the benefit of linking with other site or search engines. Both sites exchanging links will benefit from this exercise. Don't get involved with "link farms". Send an email to the blogger you wish to exchange links with and simply ask if they are willing to exchange links. You will be surprised how many say yes. Also, if you create well written, highly niche targeted posts, bloggers will link to that post creating tons of "search-engine loved" one way links.

Create A Newsletter

If you have regular blog traffic, you must develop a newsletter for your readers. Your newsletter can be either on weekly or monthly basis. This can sometimes seem too difficult for the new blogger, but this is the time to use those freelance writers. Have them write 5-10 articles on your niche, and use those as your newsletter. You should only put a small resources
box after every article. The small box will serve as the link back to your blog. This will surely increase your blog traffic and returning visitors. If your customers like it, they may
even recommend you to their friends, relatives and colleagues.

Join Traffic Exchanges

This is another form of exchange links allowing the member to view each other's blog posts by surfing. By surfing to the blog, you are gaining points, the more you surf the more points
you receive. You are also given an option to gain credits. This will not produce much blog traffic but it will obtain the names for your visitors by using squeeze pages. If you display Google
Adsense on your site, be careful joining traffic exchanges as it can violate Google's TOS.

Follow thes 5 steps and watch your blog traffic grow. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen. Stay patient, stay focused and work hard to increase your blog traffic.

What Do You Have To Be To Succeed In A Home Based Business

By Pedro Sousa

So, 95% of the people that try to earn money online FAIL. That's a fact and nobody can argue with that.

But, you can belong to the 5% who actually earn money from the confort of their own houses. How? I call it the three "Be's".

Before that, let's talk about something else. Is it possible to start bulding an income using just FREE advertsing resources? Basicly, is it possible to earn money online without spending a
penny?! NO! I've talked about it with other marketers and we all reached the same conclusion: at some point, you have to spend some money. But the trick, is how to spend it. Face it like an
investment to future. Just spend it wisely. What leads to my main point. What do you have to be to really earn a "few bucks" using the internet in these so called "home based business"?

Be Active - That's right. If you have an idea, just explore it and do something about it. How many times did i heard: "oh man, i want to do this, but i don't if it's going to work. Maybe i
just should let it go". WRONG. Be active in every way that you can be. You will never know if it is a good idea, if you just don't try to make it work!

Be Patient - While you are advertising your main home based business you have to be patient. Advertising is a number's game. Just don't quite and keep trying. Give yourself a couple of months until you give up.

Be original - In every step of the way, you have to be unique and creative. Do something different from the competition, and BEING ACTIVE here can really pay off. Write down some ideas that you think can work, embrace them with enthusiasm and you will see results in no time.

That's about it. If you can be active, patient and original you can earn money online. Along your money journey, invest your money wisely (no guarateed sign-ups and so on). Before EVERY
MOVE research about it in order to find some feedback and then ACT!

Did You Steal That Article? 3 Steps To Avoiding Plagiarism

By Lisa Sparks

We draw our inspiration from a variety of sources, so it's logical that every now and then someone may say we swiped an article. Of course the charge is false. Bottom line: Real article marketing pros don't steal content, because we don't have too.

Gathering data from many sources can cause a problem now and then. That's why I've developed a three step system for avoiding those accusations and it's served me well for the
several years that I've been using article marketing to boost traffic to my Web sites.

If you're holding back from article marketing because of a lack of original ideas - don't fear. Here are three ways to ensure you'll stay clear of plagiarism police when you write your content-rich article:

1.Take the structure, not the words.
When using other people's articles as inspiration for your own - a very common practice among professional writers - look at the article for it's structure and not necessarily the words
themselves. For instance, I use templates to quickly write my articles. I use various types of templates, but there are hundreds out there. So just look for the template - or the structure - of the article and swipe that. After all, structure isn't copyrighted, but the writer's words are.

2.Draw from many sources.
Another great way to make your articles original is to take pieces of information from a variety of sources and industries. I'm always on the lookout for good ideas, inspiring headlines, and some motivational quotes, which can set off a flood of article content - giving me five to 10 articles all at once. Start holding on to junk mail, interesting ezines and quotes. When you're looking for advice for your articles, turn to these sources to give you just the boost you need.

3.Gather a bank of your favorite writers.
Some writers just give me the greatest rush of information. No matter how many times I read their books and listen to their pod casts I seem to get something new from what they have to
say. Who puts wind in your sails? Whoever it is, there's no crime in taking bits of pieces of their concepts and putting your own spin on them. Chances are, they did the same thing with their mentors/favorite authors.

Bonus solution: Give the author credit. You can always just bite the bullet and reveal your sources so-to-speak. Attribute an idea, thought or phrase to the original author. Then debunk
whatever it is he or she has said. You can also completely agree and offer a case study of exactly why you agree with what the author said. Attributing information to the original author silences all plagiarism critics.

Why You Should Strive to Create More Than Just Back Links

By Trey Pennewell

I read a message on a forum the a while back where a new
webmaster was asking for suggestions regarding article
submissions to create back links. The person asked how long the
articles should be, how many hyperlinks to include, and other
questions about article submissions. I was quite surprised by
some of the responses that this poster received.

What Sort of Advice Was Given...

It was actually recommended that articles only need to be 250
words long and that the person asking the question should include
4-5 hyperlinks. Another person suggested to write a 500-word
article and to include many hyperlinks, because the only purpose
of the articles were to create back links.

There is some truth to this... A person could write a short
article and get it submitted to many article directories. And,
simply generating back links is one way that a webmaster can
increase his or her position in the search engine rankings.

But, writing a 250-word article will probably not result in that
webmaster being considered an expert on the topic that he or she
is writing about.

Experts In Their Fields

Taking the time to create an informative and helpful article will
help a person to be considered an expert in his or her field.
Imagine for a moment if some of the most famous names on the
Internet were to only write brief articles to generate back
links. Would Matt Cutts (http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/) receive
the recognition that he does if he just scribbled a few sentences
here and there? Would Joel Comm (http://www.joelcomm.com/) be
considered an Adsense expert without writing informative how-to
articles and books for those wanting to make money from Adsense?
Would you know or care who Robin Nobles
(http://www.searchengineworkshops.com/) was if she did not create
in-depth articles about search engine optimization? Would you
even be bothering to read this article?

You can generate a bit of traffic by creating back links by
hammering out low-quality articles. But, if you want to be known
as an expert, you need to take a different approach and provide
the quality information people are seeking. If you have
information and expertise that others are unable to find on the
Internet, then you will get many more visitors as a result of
writing an article.

If you are looking for more than simple back links to your site,
then it is worth it to take the time to write a high-quality
article. A high quality article, that is written with the reader
in mind --- not the search engines --- is more likely to actually
get clicks (human visitors) into your site. This is what
separates the very successful webmasters from those who are
simply getting by.

To be known as an expert or an authority in your area requires
articles and information that human beings will actually read.
After reading this kind of article, a person will think to
himself "This author has the information that I am looking for"
and the reader will then visit the writer's website.

How To Succeed With Article Marketing

A well-written article can be submitted to literally thousands of
publishers of ezines, newsletters, and free reprint article sites
and can result in dozens and sometimes hundreds of back links for
a website. Now, not every publisher will pick up your article,
but for the ones that do, you get a back link. More important
than the back links though is the number of people that will cite
your article, forward it to their friends, and reference it in
their own articles that they are distributing.

These high-quality articles are how a webmaster becomes known as
an "authority" on a topic. When you write for the reader and
offer something of real value, you will reap the rewards with a
huge influx of traffic to your website.

How To Fail With Article Marketing

Generalized junk articles that are filled with hyperlinks and
self promotion will only result in a few back links, and people
who actually read those less-than-quality articles are not very
likely to ever visit your site.

Poorly written articles are also unlikely to get published in
ezines and newsletters where you can reach potentially thousands
of readers in a single day.

The worst thing about the low-quality junk articles is that if
people do read them, they might always think of you as a "junk
peddler", and most people don't buy from people whom they
perceive as "junk peddlers".

As a webmaster, you need to decide for yourself what goals you
have in mind for your article submission campaign. If you limit
yourself to only generating back links, you will not see the full
potential of visitors and traffic that you could be getting to
your website.

A Final Thought...

An article that is good enough to wind up on sites like
http://www.About.com can give you a huge and consistent growth in
traffic for some time to come. Articles that are picked up by
large newsletters like http://www.SiteProNews.com can deliver
thousands of visitors to your website in a day, add to your
credentials as an "authority" website, and will create a
situation where your website is one of the first places that
people turn to for information in your field.

The bottom line is that if you write for the human reader instead
of the search engines, you will be rewarded with many more
visitors, and you can gain an authority status among your
visitors.

The choice is yours. You can spend an extra hour or two creating
a high-quality article that will be published on more websites
creating more back links to your website, establish you as an
authority in your field, and allow you to see thousands of
visitors in a day when your article is published in one or a
dozen ezines. Or you can save the extra hour or two and pray that
your limited efforts will amount to anything of real value.

Searching For An Internet Home Based Business?. . . . The questi

By Ruby River

When I lost my long-term employment only then did I truly realize
that I had a CHOICE. I consciously made the decision to work at
home from the Internet.

First, let us acknowledge some of the reasons Internet home based
business is BIG business:

* Job security once taken for granted is declining due to
outsourcing, company closures and cutbacks;

* One parent deciding to stay home to raise their children. The
lack of affordable child care is often a consideration. It does
not make financial sense in many cases for both parents to work
outside of the home;

* Private sector pensions and personal savings are no longer
adequate when it is time for baby boomers to retire. Having an
Internet home based business well into our seventies is not all
that uncommon, or

* Some of us are just sick of working for someone else and want
to enjoy the freedom of working for ourselves.

Ok, you have made the solid decision of becoming a stay at home
entrepreneur. With the vast services, products, information and
opportunities the Internet offers becoming overwhelmed can be
attained in an instant by a click of your mouse.

I would like to suggest asking yourself a few questions and
create some guidelines BEFORE you go about your quest of finding
an Internet home based business. Your business is truly an
investment in yourself.

Write these questions and answers down. Have a dialogue with
yourself. You may be surprised how they may vary after a week or
so, or you may add questions to your list. The idea is to be
conclusive no matter if it takes a day, a week or three months.

The first question to ask is:

1. What do I want to accomplish with my Internet business? What
are my goals? This is not a redundant question. Be specific. Your
goals are where it all begins.

2. How much time can I, or am I willing to give to this home
based business on a daily basis? Being very clear on your true
time availability is necessary.

3. What is my budget for my business?

4. Do I want my business to be within an established company or
do I want to be a totally independent entity with my own
products/services? If you want to be totally independent then
........

Your business could spring from an interest, talent or hobby that
you are knowledgeable and passionate about. Write them ALL down
even if you dismiss them from the get go--keep an open mind. I am
not a total believer in the "do what you love and success will
follow" mind set being the cure all, but having a true belief
in, or a passion for your products/services is essential.

5. How knowledgeable am I about my products/services? Do I need
to do more research? You certainly do not have to be an expert,
but being knowledgeable is important.

If you choose to work within a company, your choices are diverse
as well. Additional questions could be.........

6. How long has the company been in business?

7. Are they reputable?

8. Does the company have a strong structure (i.e. training,
support, marketing strategy, automation system for payment,
invoicing, etc?)

9. Are their products/services something I can be proud of?

10. Will I have to do any handling of the products?

And, of course, include on your list other aspects you already
know that you do, or do not want in a business.

The process can feel daunting, but take your time, research and
ask lots of questions. It is well worth the expenditure. Good
luck!

What Name Do You Give That Article Or Book?

By Dee Owens

The title of my book is as important as the characters
themselves. So the name of the book is as important as the
characters themselves. You can choose an important event as I
did in The title of my book is as important as the characters
themselves. In my first I named my book La Roe's after the
Heroine in which the story was told from her POV, Secondly it
also describes part of her. La Roe means The Red and her first
name Emerald means Green she consequentially has red hair and
green eyes. La Roe's is also about an entire family in which
her children will come to play mainly her daughter which
according to family tradition will be named La Roe also.

So the name of the book is as important as the characters
themselves. You can choose an important event As Fay's Wish in
which the mother a Fay makes a wish for her daughter. Then in
Mystic Inn it represents the hotel, and Vampires Revenge
represents the revenge our heroine will play on the hero. I
think the name should give a clue to the reader of something
grand about to take place.

So how to name you MS, well as you right it an important scene,
place, person, or thing will stand out and hopefully shout use
me. I find that I don't know the name until that exact moment.
It is as hard as naming your Characters themselves, esp. if
they represent them.

One thing to remember though never force the name, it will come
to you and if you feel the need to name it temporarily then use
the heroine's hero's or even something such contemporary
romance, fantasy, or even pain in butt book 3 or whatever
number it is.

Ezine Articles, What Are They And What Can They Do For You.

By Dee Owens

Ezine Articles have been around since the early 80's, and the
group Cult of the Dead Cow claims to have published the first
one in 1984. No matter who was the first to create it, Ezine
articles have become a part of everyday web hosting, designing,
and promotion. Ezine articles are a way to focus on specific
content and keywords.

The Pros
The benefits of Ezine Articles are numerous to say the least;
however, the top Pros make your work and research all worth the
while. Traffic the proper Ezine articles can generate enough
visitors to make your web page a success, while improper
content, repetitiveness, and missing links can spell disaster
for any on-line business. Making sure that all of your content
is accurate and up to date can be tedious but a necessary part
of maintaining a successful site.

The Cons
What can go wrong with Ezine articles, you would think what
cons can there possibly be on something that if you look in the
right spots you can get for free, but there are a few. The
first being the content of the article, is it accurate, current
and informative? If not then this can cause serious problems
such as someone marking your site as an unreliable source. The
safety net for this is the fact that the articles are written by
other authors and can be stated one point of view. Another
major con is how fast others generate new articles, the web
content changes daily and unless you have catchy headlines and
SEO Articles then you can be left behind.

Summary
Many Ezine articles free as long as you follow basic guidelines
when using them in either your website or emails. First, you
must leave where the article came from in the article and not
change any part of the source. You may do minor editing but
nothing major that can change the articles content, also
copying only parts or just a few lines is illegal as well.
Most times, you must inform the original host of the Article
where you are putting the Ezine Article, or if it is part of a
solicited email list then a forward of your email should work.
Not all require notification however; it is good business sense
and ethnics to contact them. Ezine articles can be user
friendly as long as you remember that the information has to be
accurate, you keep the source of the article in it, and you
follow the copyright guidelines. However finding the right
article for your web page can be a difficult task. Don't give
up though, with patients and the right Keywords, and the web
you are sure to find the right article for you.

Boost Response Rates With This Under-Used Article Secret

By Lisa Sparks

No matter what you write to your clients or customers, the
benefits have to be up front. That's the rule we all know it.
Now how do we stick to it?

Make a benefits list. Just write down what you know your
readers want to get out of life or in their profession. List
what they need to make easier.

Making this list helps you:

- write benefit-laden headlines and articles

- choose article subjects that interest your readers

- increase sales (After all, readers respond when you focus
only on them.)

By creating this list and posting wherever you write, you'll
have a quick point of reference whenever you need to come up
with an article quickly.

Here's an example of a list I made for accounts payable clerks:

- keep independent contractors separate from employees

- reduce paper

- keeping up with sales tax issues

- stay out of legal trouble

- checking expense reports against receipts

These are all things they'd want. Now you can use this to
create headlines. Try to put the benefits in the headline
first. Here are a few examples:

An Easier Way to Determine Worker Status

Small Steps to Going Paperless

Heads up: A/P Could Pay for DOR's Sales Tax Losses

Here's Poof Spot Checking Expense Reports Pays Off

It's best not to pull this list out of thin air. As much as you
think you're close to your audience, and you know exactly what
they're thinking, they can often surprise you with new
interests. Here's how to stay current:

1. Start calling or e-mailing a select group of customers.
You'll want to choose people who you speak with on a regular
basis and who are opinionated. They are not hard to find. These
wonderful gems are on every businessperson's client list.

2. Ask them these questions:

- What keeps you up at night?

- What's the toughest thing about your job?

- What's the one thing you would change about your job?

- Could you please describe your day from the time you sit at
your desk in the morning until you leave at night?

3. Draw out their emotions. Once you have this info, look for
any emotions the respondent has. Are they angry about new
regulations? Tired of having to match invoices? Eager to remove
paper from the accounting process? Loving a new kind of computer
software? Use these emotions to write your lead paragraphs and
headlines. They're the undercurrent that will keep your readers
glued to just about everything that flows from your computer and
into their inbox.

What You Can Do Now: Think of who you can ask today, so that
you can start building your benefits list. It's the secret to
the success of your e-mail marketing campaign.

What Is Article Marketing And What Can It Do For Me?

By Lisa Sparks

I've had so many people approach me about how to boost traffic,
increase sales, and get more leads into their businesses. I
always tell them that there is a really low-cost way to make it
happen for them. Frankly, articles that I wrote three years ago
are still bringing me strong and consistent traffic today.

That's why article marketing - the process of "giving away"
your articles - is one of the best ways to get traffic today,
and will be tomorrow, and several years from now.

Here's how the process works:

  1. Write an amazing article on a subject your audience is very
    interested in.
  2. Edit the article or hire someone else to edit it for you.
  3. Distribute the article in article directories - a top
    directory is www.EzineArticles.com
  4. Sit back and watch the flood of traffic, leads, and sales
    overwhelm your merchant account.

What I've just outlined may seem simple, but there is a rather
involved process behind the whole thing. For one, you have to
write a clear, well-thought-out article. Some people hire
others to do this for them.

Big mistake!

What I'm about to write may make a lot of people angry or even
cringe at the thought of having to do this, but I wouldn't be
leading you on the right path if I didn't share this one very
important piece of advice with you.

** Always write your own articles.**

Hire someone to edit, but if you're just starting out in this
article marketing thing, always write your own articles.

Put Your Personality On Display to Rake in Higher Sales

Bottom line: You have a unique voice and that's what your
readers will fall in love with. If they don't feel your
personality, they won't feel as if they know you. In my
experience, if my readers don't feel like they know me, they'll
won't buy from me.

No writer can capture your personality - no matter how good
they are. I should know, I've been a professional writer for 16
years now and unless I have good previous writing samples to go
by, quickly capturing a person's personality in print is nearly
impossible. Now, I could always extensively interview someone to
find out just what their personality is, but time is money and I
charge handsomely for that kind of time - and so will any other
copywriter worth his or her salt. When you're just starting out
as an article marketer, paying such a hefty price may not be in
your budget.

Good news: There's an alternative. You can follow a set formula
to create your very own quality, content-rich articles.

It's good to write clear, easy-to-follow, content-rich
articles.

Why? If you write an article that has great content and that's
infused with your unique voice, many ezine publishers, web
designers, and others with web sites will publish your article
on their web site.

That's good for you because the bottom of your article will
contain a resource box. This resource box lists why you're an
expert and then gives a link back to your web site. The more
your article - with the resource box - gets published, the more
traffic you'll get. And traffic leads to more subscribers on
your lists and more subscribers on your list leads to more
sales when you launch new products and services - or when you
re-launch existing products and services.

Turbo Charge Your Articles - 6 Ways To Make Them Easy To Read And Hard To Resist

By Lisa Sparks

A few years back, I found that the process of writing articles
really isn't a process at all - it's an art, and it's a very
elegant one.

There are so many ways to make an article easy to read for your
audience it's mind-boggling.

While a debate rages on about whether articles should be dense
and conversational or sparse and easy-to-read, I find myself in
the middle, happy to write conversational articles with loads of
impact.

The fact remains: People aren't going to read something that
looks like it might take a long time to read. I'm a
professional writer and I don't even like to read long
articles. (To me, long ezine articles it shows a lack of
discipline on the part of the writer.)

Here are a few maxims I've discovered and they've served me
well in the past:

  • Keep articles to anywhere between 400 and 700 words -
anything more than that and you're asking for your article to
have single-digit page views. Who wants that?
  • Use sub-heds. Short for subheadings, these breaks in the
content are mini-paragraphs that move the reader along in the
story. I only employ these when I'm writing case studies or
articles that approach the 700 word mark.
  • Note: I only write these after I have written the entire
article. I take a good look at the text and then I try to
insert a sub-hed every two or three paragraphs. This technique
works wonders in making an article appear more readable.
  • Use bullets, numbered lists, and bold sentences whenever
you're writing the advice portion of your articles.

Quick Tutorial on Adding Status Boosting Advice to Your
Articles

It's a must to have advice in your articles. This sets you
apart as an expert in your field and makes you likable because
you're helping to solve the problems of your prospects.

Here how I used advice in my articles:

  • Make sure the advice is actionable - something to reader
can do right now to reach a goal, eliminate a problem or become
    more efficient.
  • Include the most important items at the top of the list
and the least important ones at the very end.
  • Finish strong with a final piece of advice that is not
in the numbered list, bulleted list, or bold sentence category.

I usually structure the sentence like this one: "Bottom line:
Follow a set format to make writing articles easier."

This allows the reader to leave your article with the one
nugget of information that he can finally use to solve whatever
problem may be hanging over him at the moment.

Now article writing can be fun because you have the right tools
to ensure readers will want to read your articles.

Bonus! How to Put This Concept to Work in Your Articles
Write your articles out without thinking about these tips I
just mentioned. Just empty your brain of all the information
you have about a particular problem facing your audience and
how they can solve that problem.

Then walk away from the article. Don't look at or think about
it for at least three hours or so. Next, insert sub-heds to
break up the paragraphs into bite-sized pieces. Format your
advice into bullets, numbered lists or bolded first sentences.

You'll be surprised at how well your articles will look to
someone who's first viewing it.

Doing this, in combination with a phenomenal headline, will
send your article views through the roof. People will clamor
for your articles and publish them both online, and in ezines.

All You Need To Know About Earning A Residual Income In An Affiliate Program

By Chang Wee Teo

Many people are confused about what exactly an affiliate
program is and how a person can actually earn a residual income
through an affiliate program. On the one hand, we see
advertisements telling us we can make huge amounts of cash
through an affiliate program. Then on the other hand, there are
advertisements telling us that any program offering an unlimited
income is a scam. So what is the truth? It is therefore very
critical that we learn the truth about earning a residual
income in an affiliate program before we write if off as a
scam.

There are two basic functions in an affiliate program.

Firstly, an affiliate program sells a product for a commission.
Some companies set up affiliate programs, whereby the products
will be marketed by the affiliates. This is free marketing for
the company, at the same time, allows the affiliates to make
residual income. An affiliate is given an ID, and usually has a
website, which is used to promote the product. The affiliate
earns a commission off every sale that is transacted from his
website.

The second function of an affiliate program is to build the
program by recruiting new affiliates. Besides selling products,
the website gives people a chance to become an affiliate
themselves. When people sign up on an affiliate's website, the
affiliate then gets a commission on anything that affiliate
sells. The process continues as each affiliate signs up more
affiliates. It is a win-win situation for all involved. To the
company, it only needs to do the set up and monitor the
affiliate program, while the affiliates do the rest. It is
getting an enormous amount of free advertising through the
affiliate program. Many companies see the value of affiliate
programs and are implementing the programs.

How easy is it to achieve our goal of making huge amounts of
residual income through affiliate programs? While it is true
that an affiliate who sells a lot of products and builds a team
of affiliates under him, who also sell and recruit good
affiliates, can make a large amount of money, the process is
not that simple though. To begin, setting up a stable and
strong team of affiliates is difficult. Out of the many people
who are looking to make a quick dollar, half of them who sign
up for these affiliate programs never even carry through and
end up quitting. The commissions on the product sales are
usually low and so an affiliate would depend on the underlying
team members in order to make a decent commission. So, it is
possible to make a good residual income, but you must be
patient because it will take some time to achieve the desired
results.

Some people avoid affiliate programs because of its close
resemblance to a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme involves
recruiting people to sign up and making money off recruits. The
main difference between a pyramid scheme and an affiliate
program is that affiliate programs have an actual product to
sell. That also explains why affiliate programs are successful
while pyramid schemes fail.

Affiliate programs offer a great and effective way to build
residual income. If you work hard and be patient, you will be
successful with an affiliate program. Remember, affiliate
programs are not scams and are a true way to earn some money.

Permission-Based Email Campaign As Important Component Of Email Marketing

Julia Gulevich

The objective of marketing is to spark interest, provoke
curiosity for the products and services and generate sales of
the goods. Email marketing is just what you think - sending
messages to existing or potential customers via email. Email
marketing is an extremely powerful and effective marketing
technique; it is also one of the most cost effective ways to
tell the world about the products and services you offer. It's
much cheaper than a traditional advertising and may have a
larger impact on immediate sales and long-term relationship
strength.

Email marketing makes it possible for a seller and a buyer to
communicate quickly and easily with one another creating a
trust relationship. It's "good" email marketing. But we must
admit that there is a reverse side of email marketing. Yes, I
mean Spam. Not all email marketers are warm and fuzzy. There
are many among them who send unsolicited email promotions.
Sending spam ruins a good reputation of any legitimate company
or organization and can turn your happy customers into your
worst enemies.

So, if you value your fair name and want to build a long-term
relationship with your clients remember the rule number one of
email marketing - not send unsolicited email.

Send permission-based email messages. The core of
permission-based email marketing is that effective, targeted
email messages are sent to a carefully controlled list of
recipients who gave you the permission to contact them. It
means that people on your list requested that you send them
emails. And you would be wiser if you ask them to confirm their
wish to be added to your list just to ensure that they didn't
subscribe by mistake, or that someone else didn't subscribe
them to your list. All this will serve you as a proof that you
are not spamming. Permission-based email marketing allows you
focusing on the prospects and customers who are really
interested in what you are offering and are more than willing
to become repeat customers.

Permission-based email campaign outlines Where to start from?
How to collect people for a permission-based email campaign?
How to manage a list of collected recipients? Every intelligent
email marketer asks himself these obvious questions. We'll
review the process of putting a successful permission-based
email campaign into effect below:

1) Get a system to manage your email marketing subscribers and
mailings. You'll need bulk email management software that will
allow you create newsletters, manage subscribes, unsubscribes,
bounces, and view reporting statistics like opens and
clickthroughs. You can buy a program and run your email
campaign yourself, or you can pay someone else to run it for
you.

2) Create a sign-up form on your web site so you can start
collecting subscribers. If you already have any lists of
subscribers that have requested your communications, import
those lists into you email management software.

3) Design a good email template for your newsletters. If you
are not a HTML email designer, you can choose a template
provided with email software, or hire someone else to create a
template for you. G-Lock EasyMail provides you with several
email templates within the software that can be used free of
charge. A rich library of email templates is here:
http://www.hotemailtemplates.com/

4) Compose the content for your newsletter. Your newsletter
must contain your logo, information on your products and
services, and links to your web sites. Send only a quality
relevant content. Do not send meaningless emails. Check the
spelling of your message carefully. Have someone else read it
too.

5) Test your email newsletter. It would be smart to test your
email message before sending it out to the world. Send it to
yourself or to your associates to ensure that it looks like you
expected.

6) Send your newsletter to your list. Think about the frequency
of the email newsletter you will be sending. We recommend that
you send a newsletter once a month at least. You can certainly
send multiple newsletters if you sell different types of
products, or have multiple email lists with relevant customers.
You can also send promotional messages from time to time
offering a discount coupon for a product or service, or
providing your customers with the information they may be
interested in. Sending your newsletters with a consistent
frequency will let your subscribers know that you are in
business and care about them. As your list grows, you will
notice increased traffic (and increased sales) on the day of
and the days following an email send.

7) Manage your bounces and unsubscribes. It's nice if your
email management software does this automatically. Do not send
the messages to bounced email addresses, or to people who
unsubscribed.

Wisely and correctly done email marketing can give you a great
return for less investment of time and money.

Direct Drip Email Marketing Tactic

Julia Gulevich

If you have the products or services that you want to sell on
the Internet, you'll want to create a web site where you'll
advertise what you are offering and you'll also want to spread
a word about your products or services to the world. You can
easily and quickly do it via email. Email marketing is
certainly one of the most powerful strategies in internet
marketing. It's quick, cost effective - you do not have to pay
a set price for every email that is sent out - and allows
contact people in all parts of the world. So, you can get more
purchasers and respectively more revenue for less investment of
time and money.

How does one accomplish bulk email marketing campaign?

You can use online bulk emailing services, or you can pay a
marketing firm to do your bulk email promotions, or you can use
direct email marketing software to distribute your email
campaigns sitting at your computer.

Using software can be the most cost-effective method if you
have the time to manage your prospects list and accomplish your
email campaigns with a constant frequency.

There is wide choice of direct email marketing software
packages available on the Internet market. Some are even
freeware programs that don't require any investment. Although
they don't generally have the value-added features that come
with software packages that you purchase; however, if you
aren't running a large email marketing campaign, they may suit
your needs for accomplishing specific tasks just fine.

What is Drip Email Marketing?

The concept behind drip email marketing consists in sending
periodic emails to prospects and clients hoping to bring them
to your website and make them purchase products or services. It
is an effective method to generate new purchasers from your
prospects and keeping relationship with your existing clients.
Drip Email Marketing tactic results from the idea that nobody
purchases online products or services instantly. A visitor can
come to your web site a few times before he becomes a
purchaser. Keeping this in mind, how are you going to stimulate
your prospects' interest to your site and keep them informed
about your products and services? This is where a drip email
marketing campaign is quite to the point.

Imagine that a prospect has just visited your site and left you
the email address. It's important to note that you should add a
sign-in form to your web site to collect the prospects' email
addresses. It's rather useful if your sign-in form asks the
subscriber to provide some about additional and not only the
email address. I'm not talking about private information. I'm
talking about the subscriber's area of interest, hobbies,
specific needs, or at least the emails he prefers to receive,
text or HTML. All this information will help you segment your
prospects and send more relevant email messages to each group.

So, based on the subscribers' preferences, you set up a drip
email marketing campaign catered to their specific needs. Each
message you send them give more information about their
inquiries slightly hinting them at you and your products or
services. It is an importunate way to stamp your name in their
mind. Remember, you don't sell anything yet. You just give an
advice and information about their particular needs and wishes.

For your existing clients, a drip email marketing campaign is
similar. You only need to tailor the emails so they are
oriented to the client after purchase. Your email drips must
contain relevant information that can help the customer with
the products or services he purchased. The customer must be
sure that you are always there to assist him. When your client
believes that you are a faithful and reliable partner, he is
ready to purchase again from you.

It may probably sound like you will need more than one tool to
accomplish your drip email marketing campaign. But you can find
many programs on the Internet that can handle your growing lists
of prospective and present clients. Our email management
software must be flexible enough to treat each client or
prospect according to the routine of your drip email campaign.

The most important thing to remember about drip email marketing
is that you must not send meaningless emails. Each message must
have an informative content, a real reason to contact your
prospects and clients, not just a note saying "Hi!" or "How are
you?".

If your drip marketing email cannot keep the client's interest,
it will be deleted immediately next time when they read the
sender's email address. We all are busy people and won't spend
our time for dull messages. If you are trying to build the
relationship based on trust and faith, you cannot tolerate that
they never open your emails. You can start directly from the
subject line. The subject itself must grab people's attention
and make them want to read your message. This is the essential
concept behind a drip email marketing campaign - to develop a
trust and faithful relationship with your customer by sending
valuable information. When the rapport of informative and
useful emails is established, your clients and prospects will
be looking forward for every email from you and they will even
recommend your company and your products to others. Isn't it
exactly what you want for you business? I'm sure it is.

Deciding Whether To Blog Or Not To Blog

Dee Owens

Blogging has grown in the last few years, with more and more
people doing it everyday. If you can write in a diary or
journal you can blog, it really is that simple. When you make
entries into your blog site, they are listed newest to oldest.
There is also no limit on what you can blog about, from food to
romance, or maybe even your chosen career you will find
something to talk about.

So you have decided to blog. Now what? Well the first step is
to set up an account on either a blogging site or a personal
website. There are many free websites out there so do not let
money be a factor in your decision, let coverage. You are going
to write down a daily, weekly, or monthly account of what is
happening and lets face it, you not only want people to read
it, you need them too. Therefore, your first step is to type
blog or blogging into your favorite Search Engine and see who
pops up the most, and then second most, and so on and so forth.
Once you have your say top five blogging sites, go to each one
and check out what they offer compared to the other guys. Who
