Christmas in Australia is unique

Christmas in Australia is a unique event. It's usually stinking hot and lunch for many consists of a BBQ and/or seafood buffet outdoors. A typical Christmas day ends up with everyone meeting at the beach or local swimming hole to cool off, a game of cricket in the backyard and a nap after the over-indulgence of copious amounts of prawns, pavlova and beer. This year my family is actually going to sit down for the full turkey and 3 courses. But we are the exception to the rule.

I found a sweet story this week that beautifully represents what Christmas in Australia is really like. It's by local actor and comedian John Clarke and it's called A Child's Christmas in Warrnambool. For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, this should give you a taste of Christmas Down Under.
