Jerkus Maximus?
There are a few smug smiles on the faces of people here in Bellingen township today. Perhaps it's got something to do with the arrest of expat Russell Crowe in New York yesterday for violent behavior.
Some say Mr Crowe has a slight anger management problem. Others say he is nothing more than an arrogant thug. At least one New York newspaper agrees, having splashed his photo under the front page headline "JERKUS MAXIMUS" today.
Certainly he has been involved in more than his share of biffo over the years, including a few spats at local watering holes here in Bellingen and Coffs Harbour. Many Bellingen residents and businesses lost money when Ross pulled the plug earlier this year on the planned filming of the movie "Eucalyptus", without warning or explanation. Is Russ finally getting his Karma? Some of us like to think so.
