Bill Gates Is Sharing His Fortune!
Well, not exactly. I had an old school friend forward me an email with this title yesterday and my bullsh$t radar flashed immediately. It took me all of 2 mins to Googlespot the scam. Looking down the email FW list, I was surprised at how many intelligent, Internet-savvy people still fall for these chain emails. Is it the lure of impossible cash sums? Maybe. Is it sheer boredom? Quite possibly. But it goes to show the power of viral marketing as a publicity tool is alive and kicking. That's enough from me today, I'm off to create a viral search campaign.

Hi :) i received one of these chain letter emails today, and came across your webpage while googling. my bullshit radar is quite well developed and whenever a friend sends me stuff like this, i google it and send them links to pages that debunk the claims of the spam... anyways today i noticed something i didn't before.. this email had been forwarded multiple times, and many of the in-betweens (falsely, no doubt as a joke) claim that they've received anywhere from 5000-30000$ from microsoft... :P something new everyday!
