First Post!
Welcome to the first post of the "Dear Kalena..." search engine advice column. I'm Kalena Jordan, Director of Studies here at Search Engine College. I've been involved in the search engine industry for nearly 10 years now. Some of you might recall my Search Engine News Blog which had a pretty good following in its day.
Well, my role has changed focus since then from optimizer to educator. I now spend most of my time educating webmasters about the basics of search engine optimization and pay per click advertising via the online courses we offer here at SEC. Read my complete profile for the official yada yada.
So why start this blog? Well I seem to have developed a certain reputation over the years, (no, not THAT kind of reputation!), to the point where I receive a lot of questions from confused webmasters and business owners about how to use search engines to promote their sites.
I spend a considerable amount of time researching and answering these questions, so I thought, why not share this information? Why not become the official agony aunt of the search industry? Plus I like to rant and rave on a daily basis about whatever is yanking my chain :-)
So a blog is born. It even has its own press release.
Need advice or have a search engine related question? Then email me and I'll try to blog it. Enjoy!
